been awhile

I sent this to my good friend a while back. It sums up the past few months, and the background of continuing frustrations. Enjoy.

I hope things are going well for you and the mrs. as
well. Melissa recently returned from a 3 week trip
through the east coast as part of her photography job.
She traveled to New Jersey and was in Wildwood and
Atlantic City, and then went to Virginia Beach. It
was a little strange not having her around the house,
so Charlie and I lived the sweet bachelor life. If I
had not told you, the reason Snickers is not mentioned
just now is that we had to have him put down back in
June. Anyway, she got to go to the new House of Blues
in Atlantic City, and she got me a new shirt and a
bowling shirt. She was able to make some good money
this trip, which should help her pay for school this
semester. She left on the 9th of July and returned
safely (except for the car accident in Virginia Beach)
on July 30th.
In other news, for the past 2 months I have been
trying to get a job up in Quality Control within the
plant. I was basicly told by the supervisor in quality
that I had the job and the proper paperwork had been
submitted to HR. Hell, my supervisor had even gone
and posted my job as being available. What would have
been a move for me at the end of the month has now
resulted in me being stuck in production until the end
of the year. HR took their sweet time in letting
quality know that they needed to interview other
candidates (even though there have been other cases
where their hiring policies have been different)and
only told QC this information just last week. In the
meantime, another one of my co-workers was offered a
job in another department; a promotion. She signed.
They cannot afford to let the two of us go at the same
time, and since she has signed her acceptance letter,
she gets out first. There are a few other moves being
made in my department (my supervisor leaving; my other
co-worker becoming our co-ordinator) that now leave it
almost impossible for me to leave soon. In fact, I
have been told that the earliest I can expect to leave
is the new year. Since I cannot be released from
production, I will essentially lose the job in Quality
that I was told that I had. In summary, HR screwed me
out of a job, and I am stuck where I do not want to be
for even longer than I want. Other than all of this,
things have been going pretty well. Everyone is
healthy, my godson is cancer-clear and is now walking.

The job situation is staying the same, with new rumors originating with my management as to my fate. The new techs did start the other day and seem like they will be with us for awhile. I just hope that it is long enough for me to get out of production.
