It's still hot here, but not as bad as it was. I still hold out the hope of fall coming early this year.
The garden is looking shoddy. With all of the heat, I have not been keeping up on anything and JOhn and I are rarely outside. Well, John sits out someitmes, but he is a dirty Southern boy and the heat doesn't bother him as much. Of course he is now napping on the sofa rather than mowing the lawn because he feels that it is too hot to mow. Laziness always wins out with JOhn.
I am trying to make plans for next spring to elviate some of the mistakes that I keep making once summer comes. I do have more heat tolerant plants in the front and they are all doing well. My problem in the front is that our Japanese maples are still small and the lillies are so much taller than the trees. It looks silly. I need to paint the from and back steps. We are thinking about just putting down permanent outdoor "carpet" on the back steps (black, of course) and perhaps that will keep down onthe messy kitchen floor. Maybe the front as well since people track mud and such right onto the living room carpet.
Enough of all of that.
Went to see John's band play at Bernie's Friday night. I loved the opening band! They were amazing. HUge bass and tuned down guiitar with a big sound for a 3 piece. I feel like John's band in is a rut that they can't get out of, They play out enough, but everything sounds the same to me.
Yesterday, went to see my friend Jessica and her shiney new baby. How cute little babies are. I always feel like I'm going to drop them, so holding somone so small makes me nervous. MArgie wanted to go to the bar last night, but I wan't in the mood. So I went down to the shishaw with Billy and Aaron. We had a pleasnat time sittingoutside tlaking while the breakdancers performed across the street. We couldn't see much because of the crowd, but the tunes were funky and fit the warm night. TYpical of people in Columbus, no one else danced. The crowd just stood around staring. Columbus is wierd like that. People go to shows and then just stand there with no enthusiasm. They few who really get into are treated like wack-os.
Today I am bored. So perhpas make some bluberry muffins and see if anyone is home to visit.
