I can only see one benefit of being blind.
Outward appearences are only useful in quickly identifying someone. But you never say "I am a body", only "I have a body". When you think of "you", you think of the you in your mind... Thoughts are the essence of an identity. The body is completely irrelvant and often deceptive on face value. Sure, some people will try and change their body to reflect their identity, but someone could just as easily change their body to hide their identity. So the only benefit of being blind is that you have every opportunity to explore someone's true self without being distracted or confused by their outward appearance.
