As someone who comes from Russia, I feel the need to apologize for the very immature and thickheaded behaviour of certain people. There are always such individuals that simply cannot understand it when you ask them not to do something, thinking that they can do anything.
My eyes hurt when I read their reactions, especially considering how bad it sounds.

I wish you a good day and also a big thank you for your hard work. I hope this will not discourage you and I think that there are many people out there who really appreciate your work.

Thank you. Just the scans would have been one thing. And they have now, all been taken down on the Russian sites. But I was shocked to see the level of maturity that was displayed through this fiasco. The name-calling and attempt to bully caught me entirely by surprise.

I'm definitely not discouraged. Everyone has been so amazingly supportive which made it hard to stay depressed for long. So. Thank you for being one of the awesome ones. *internet hugs*

as a small-time scanlator and translator myself, i get where you're coming from.

it frustrates me a lot to see projects getting re-uploaded elsewhere. been considering making them private for a while.

the last straw was that recently had a similar encounter (but with a korean group) who found my scans that were uploaded on an aggregator without my permission and went on to re-translate them. they then removed our credits page and went on to watermark it as theirs. i left a comment and all she said was she didnt upload it as well and that the aggregator was the one who removed my credits page. sigh. i'm glad your issue is resolved though!

And the fact that you guys were out there was the only reason I didn't just break down about this whole mess. I mean, the having people take on mangafox? Just mind completely blown. And the Russian side was actually really amazing too as soon as they understood what was going on, they totally stepped up and got the chapter that had been reposted down, which made it really obvious that everything was just the one individual. It doesn't fix the manga aggregators, which is why I'm leaving this post up with everything, but I'm sorta figuring it as a life's lesson and in the future scans will be way more exclusionary.

(Speaking of which, I don't think I've ever friended you. Fixing that. Also... Still on my tumblr training wheels. Can I follow you? ^.^)

I think my biggest frustration in all of this is like I do like doing scanlations and, for the most part, people had been really respectful of my posting wishes... So I just found the amount of self-entitlement and maliciousness with this whole thing really frustrating. But at the same time, I don't want to give up doing something that I like doing because someone was a dick - especially when I have stuff that I've been jonesing for more fandom for that I wanted to scanlate to help stir up more of said fandom >.< - so I'm really trying to figure out how how best to go about doing this sort of thing in the future without throwing my scanlations to the wind.
