Ukyo's screen time is most definitely comparable! XD
The game itself basically starts off right where the anime ended - in the void with no memories and a choice of four worlds. The choice for Ukyo's route only shows up after a delicious amount of foreshadowing, once you complete the initial four worlds, and for me, his route is what brings the whole game together. Had it not been otome they could have easily flipped the whole thing on it's head and called Ukyo the protagonist. Plus, there's the added bonus of Ukyo basically being two people, what with his personality split and Miyata does a really good job at portraying that. (Of course, I may be a little biased as this is the first time I've heard him do a badass voice... but, I just really loved how dark and creepy other!Ukyo was.)
Gameplay wise, aside from the twist of starting out with in a relationship, Amnesia twists things around so that the Heroine literally says nothing until her memories have returned. Everything is filtered through Orion. Which I found a bit off-putting at first, but, once you get going, it really adds emphasis to the fact that you, as the Heroine, have no idea as to what's going on. (And Orion acts as something of a straight man to whatever antics might be happening which is pretty fun to watch. XD)
Other than Ukyo, Ikki and Kent had good routes as well. (The anime only barely touched on their friendship/rivalry/bromance. Their puzzle battles were both hilarious and awesome.) But, I'm a big Akira Ishida fangirl so Kent basically had me at hello.
