A minor confession (or) Reasons I should probably be ashamed as a canon touting fangirl

After an impressive waitlist and much anticipation, I managed to get my hands on the Phantom of the Opera movie. Never actually seen it before, nor read the book, but after playing this game, I must confess I was rather looking forward to it. I mean, open myself to more fandom possibilities yes?

I liked this more than that. I think I'm doing it wrong.

But really... Death, intrigue, childhood friends.. underground mafia and bloodspray?

Raoul being an absolutely psychotic yandere? The creepy kind too. Not the woobie, just needs a hug and a cookie. But the kind with serious mental issues that would make for some awesome dark!fic.

I also wanted more with Remy and Richard and exactly what kinds of other things they were getting into and how the opera house was being used as cover. For all the hush, hush, omerta we never got to see the mafia stuff. Was rather hoping for some awesomeness.

Though, I must say. Richard bringing a gun to a knife fight? I was tickled. Fit his character rather nicely.

Plus, Remy's paths had some really great divergence in them. There was a pretty big spread between the - actually really cool - Romeo and Juliut type dead end and the floofy handing Christine off to Raoul end. I wanted to get more badasser-y for Remy, come on man, the scars! And it was pretty damn obvious that Remy had big dark side he kept a lid on... (And yes. Wrong. Twisted. But preeetty obvious that when Kyle became Remy he ended familial attachments. So don't care >.<)

Then, on the other hand, there's Lucas who got totally jipped route wise. I was not expecting the double cross, he had me fooled with the sweet, supportive side role. Seems like he ought to at least had something as pivotal as his character wound up being...

And, perhaps some happy medium for Erik rather than being stuck between sickly bittersweet and aphrodisiac-laced, mindbreak, Non-Con? Which granted I was expecting. But a happy medium? Or I actually would have liked to see more of him and Christine together while he was in his Arnold persona...

*sniff*

Want fandom. Dark, twisted fandom. ...perhaps with smexy times.

Or at least some ficcage since there's actually a decent amount of fanart.

Which is unlikely... considering it's *ahem* other content.

orz

Anyone else played it yet? ((Anyone willing to work out a fic trade? XD))
