The way she looked at him had changed. Her bright eyes clouded by just a hint of sadness, just a hint of fear, and a spark of determination that hadn't been there before. Like a light that shone within the darkness.

Hatsumi Yuki had blossomed beautifully into her destiny. And, the effect was both maddening and haunting in its familiarity.

Time had finally begun to move.

The fallen god felt his mask of patience slip just a little further.

“...Sweet, cruel girl.” Amami breathed a sigh. Kimono rippling around him as he swept closer to where the girl had been enjoying the night air on the veranda of the latest inn she and her Hachiyou were staying at. His expression softened affectionately. “Have I really done such things that you would to look at me so?”

The look didn't leave.

“Everyone.” Just because she'd grown to expect these encounters, it didn't mean that she was entirely comfortable with them Or with him. Not anymore. Yuki took a shaky breath and started again. “You hurt everyone.”

“Have I?”

There was a pause before, suddenly unable to meet his eyes, she ducked her head, her voice soft. “Not yet.”

The declaration was enough to draw a chuckle out of him.

Then, the look was back. “I won't let it happen again.”

It was more of a plea than a warning and, almost instinctively, he stretched out a hand . The faint, melodic chiming of chains following the gesture as he caressed the air just above her cheek. Close, but never touching. His lips curling in a small, private smile as the girl hastily drew back from him. Her blush radiant even in the moonlight as she pressed a hand to her cheek defensively.

She didn't love him. Not yet. She didn't trust him either. But, the seeds were there and, Amami knew better than anyone, the effect Time had on seeds.

Because in Time, all seeds would grow.

“But, of course.” Mismatched eyes glowing in approval, the god dipped his head towards her. “I would expect nothing less from you, Shiroki Ryuu no Miko.”
