February 2010 marked my return to Akiruno City. It also ended my time with the American Heart Association. What an amazing group of (mostly) women I was priviledged to work with.
April 2010 began with a stride toward a new career in ELL education with a brief hiatus to Pensacola, FL which has become to current home of my best friend in the world. I dropped my camera in a river while kayaking (ok, I fell in the water with my camera around my neck... but at least the 'gators didn't get me!). Whenever I break my camera I'm always on an adventure with her. I hope she knows that I find that fitting because I should be enjoying the adventure not snapping photos.
August 2010 welcomed sweltering Arizona heat with my family. We visited Pheonix, Sedona, the Grand Canyon and topped it off with a weekend plus in Las Vegas. I capped August with a permanent full time high school ELL position in the school district I grew up in.
September 2010 brought all my Marys together for a beautiful and cultural wedding. We experienced a shortened Indian style ceremony in saris and rocked an American reception in dresses.
Now, I'm grading mid-terms, counting down the days of my waitressing career and preparing for my upcoming Malaysian excursion to visit my Japanese sister who is living and working on the island of Borneo. Natural beauty, warm weather, and snokeling to be jealous of await during February vacation. This is especially weloming considering New England has about three feet of snow blanketing it and as I type this, more snow is falling.
Stay warm!
