Beautiful Poems I wrote in Jail

Russian Roulette

Girls getting out are dying on us

They just couldn’t stay away

All they wanted was to play

They must not have known

The play they messin’ with, is dangerous

Cause now, they’re dying on us

Playing with their drug of choice

Heroin, crack, alcohol, meth

Or just plain creepy deaths

In just a month, two have died

And one still hanging on for dear life

I just wanna hug her and bring her back

Girls don’t realize,

They playin Russian Roulette with their life

It ain’t a game, just a little hit

It doesn’t mean you’re gonna miss

You know you’re gonna score

So, wanting more

And, soon you’ll be hangin on for dear life

Wishin someone was by your side

Please don’t die, live life

Don’t cock the gun and pull the trigger

Please, step away from the gun

And walk away, into the sun.

Unity Prayer

We hope you’re no longer in pain,

Pretty girls with wings

Flying in heaven

Now you’re angels

Living with our father,

Heavenly lord, also our Mother

Clouds and sky an endless sea of blue

Floating above us

Looking down on us

We pray you’re at peace

When we know we’re not

Sweet tenderness kiss you blow, so lots

We catch the breeze and feel that gentle kiss

We know you’re there

Nudging our empty despair

Lifting our hopes, that you’re okay

But it doesn’t absolve all our pain

But it eases us, knowing you’re there

The world unites, holding hands

Saying our prayers and love in our hearts

We give you thanks and wishes, that we were apart,

Apart of your world, when you were alive

Now we light a candle and wipe tears away

So every day, we will love you, forever and always.

Pretty

You are pretty, you are fine, you blow everyone else’s mind,

They see you as beautiful because you are,

Not just your spirit but your face, you are gracious in every way.

Lovely is the name they speak, its okay once and a while to retreat,

Retreat from the world and restore your soul,

Becoming prettier than you were, once before.

Pretty isn’t just a beautiful face, you give the world your soul to take,

They get a part of you in every way, spreading your infectious soul,

Giving the world what we’re looking for.

Greatness in all things makes us wiser than anything.

Speak her words of wisdom and spread it loud,

Making her exceptionally proud, when people are around her,

They can’t help but become or feel better as people,

That’s what she does, she helps people.

That is her prettiness, giving apart of herself in every way,

Thanking those who give her thanks.

We are all pretty in every single way,

We take our own breath away,

We make mistakes but it’s time to grow,

Grow as a person, who knows,

Knows that life is precious in every way,

Reach for the pretty stars and give the ultimate thanks.

Mirror Effect

I look upon my image, reflected in the mirror and I don’t recognize myself anymore

She looks different, she is the past me

She looks rough, sad and angered at the same time,

Perplexed of how life has treated her!

She’s weak and sickly looking,

As if she’s been hidden and trapped away in a dungeon somewhere for years;

Her skin pale, eyes a sad blue, her expression is unidentifiable, complex.

But, as I stand there, I look down at my real self

Trying to recognize the new me…

She is pretty, confident, I can feel her;

She is strong and relishes the fact that she’s alive.

Feels good; to be whole, human, and fully aware.

I look up and finally see the real me, she sure is pretty.

She doesn’t look like the old me at all,

She’s found the secret to life,

And that is; moving on and standing strong and tall,

Confident and still fierce, all life has been, is a blur.

She scans herself up and down, no longer with a frown,

She is no longer vain and in so many other ways- loves to be who she is;

Funny, vigilant and independent

The mirror doesn’t lie; we change and grow over time,

Going from one point to another, learning of yourself and others

Small things lead to big changes and your overall look changes,

Starting as an ugly duckling and growing into a swan who cares,

She is no longer ugly inside; she is beautiful and intends to live life.

The Other You

We came from the same place you and I

A beautiful place called earth with;

A warm sunshine, a soft cool breeze, and the roughness of the dirt between our toes

How sweet the world treats us?

Delivering us to the heavens, when we cry a happy cry

We see life around us and it inspires us to do good.

But, when life comes crumbling down, we’re so afraid,

Afraid that life in some way has failed us

We came from the same place you and I

We’re no different from each other

Yet man treats us differently

But, the world doesn’t discriminate

Pushing and pulling us into different worlds of good and evil

How do we see it, when a veil is over our eyes?

Deceiving us, exploiting us, taunting us.

We came from the same place you and I

With open arms and eyes

We finally meet, you and I

To finally see what we’ve been missing

Is she good or is she bad?

Who’s to say either is the other?

Confused, we realize that you and I

Is You, just You.
