“Spike?”

“Yeah?”

“Is this seriously happening right now?” Xander asked.

“Yep.” Spike replied.

“Really, are you sure this isn’t some really weird dream I’m having?” Xander just had to double check.

“Nope, it’s real mate. You better get used to it, she loves these sodding things.” Spike said as he lifted his tea cup to take another sip.

Tea cup.

Xander had one too, filled with some grayish liquid that he supposed was tea, though where Drusilla had found it in his kitchen was a mystery. One most likely better left unsolved.

They were all, Spike, Xander, Drusilla and Miss Edith, sitting around Xander’s kitchen table, having a tea party. Miss Edith had a place of honor, sitting on top of a cushion so her little doll head could peak over the top of the table. Drusilla was talking to her in whispers and giggling while Spike and Xander just sat there wearing ridiculously over the top flowery hats.

Just when he thought his life couldn’t get any more surreal, Drusilla decided to throw a tea party. According to Spike, they were a fairly regular thing, and Xander could look forward to many more in the future.

“Spike, where did she get these hats?” Xander wanted to know, because this whole thing would be more bearable if he didn’t feel like a member of his mom’s gardening club.

Spike chuckled, “she went over to the neighbors and got herself an invite. Then she stole ‘em.” Xander sighed; his neighbors already thought they were weird, now they must think they were crazy, although, in Drusilla’s case, they’d be right.

Xander made to stand up from the table, but before he even finished pushing his chair back Drusilla had her hand on his arm. She held him firm, not enough to hurt, but with her supernatural strength she didn’t have to hurt him to keep him still. “Good boys do as Mummy tells them.” Drusilla told him, looking intently into his eyes. “A celebration for the leaves of fortune; and Miss Edith wants her chocolate.” Xander just nodded and slumped back in his chair, not even pretending to understand whatever she’d said. Once he looked like he wasn’t going anywhere anymore, Drusilla went back to chatting with Miss Edith. The current topic of conversation was about ‘reviving Sirius so that he could marry Orion and the stars would sing forever,’ which was disturbing on too many levels so Xander just tuned it out.

“Guess I’m not going anywhere any time soon, when will we be able to leave?” Xander looked to Spike, since he had apparently done this before and, presumably, knew the rules.

“The party is over once Dru says Miss Edith finished her cake.” Spike took another sip of tea, looking completely at ease in his straw hat that was covered in purple flowers.

Xander shook his head, “we don’t have any cake. Plus, Miss Edith is a doll, she can’t actually eat anything.” Spike just nodded. “Well, that doesn’t make any sense.”

Spike lifted one eyebrow and gazed at him, as if to say “you’re point?”

Xander sighed again. Yeah, he knew better than to try and make sense out of Drusilla-logic. “This stays between us Spike, got it? No one will find out about this or someone will be drinking rat blood for a month,” Xander warned.

Spike smirked, and then said, “No worries mate, I can see this isn’t really your cup of tea.”

Xander groaned.
