A Sea of Pink ~ March 2008
When I cracked an eye yesterday morning, the light streaming past the All Blacks flag was more than should be expected at 7 a.m. ~ the time the alarm was set for. When C stirred, I asked, "Hey, what time is it?" The groggy answer was "I don't know. I turned off the alarm." Of course, that kick-started him into action. Yup, it was a delicious 9:11 a.m.
I have to say, I accomplished much more on this weekend day where I didn't sleep my usual "until noon." Indoor plants were all watered, garbage taken out, dog walked, had a make-up guitar lesson, and had an amazing cup of coffee!!
My Girl ~ March 2008
All week, I've been driving to the Candler Park MARTA station, and my path leads me past a wonderland of pink blossoms springing to life over an oasis of green. When most else is still grayish-brown limbs, it's simply amazing, and I'd been vowing to snap a few photos.
After awaking to snow flurries and a serious drop in temperatures, I knew this beauty could fade fast. So when the sun was high and casting a harsh light in the bright blue sky, Johnnie and I set out. Pam and Russell, the owners, spied me snapping away and invited us down for the ground view. It was gorgeous!!
I was completely blissed out on the return trip, and Miss Thing was on her best behavior.
C and I wrapped up the evening with pasta and a
Happy Ending before venturing out to see the
Sons of South exhibit. (It was good to see you,
boywithoutasoul!)
I'm moving a bit more slowly today, but we did check out
Rise-n-Dine. If you live around Decatur or Emory, you should check it out. It has that almost hip, retro look ~ in other words, it's perfect! And the food is damn tasty too. Fresh fruit, tons of veggies in the omelettes, my kinda strong coffee, and super yummy sweet potato pancakes. Mmm...
Ok, off to pot my fig tree ~ which has been exploding at the top. Woohoo!!
