Hall of Shame

Have I ever mentioned it's sometimes really annoying working out of town?

Boo hiss to the majority of the shops in Cambridge city centre which don't participate in late night shopping on a Wednesday (or "Wonderful Wednesday" as they city council likes to call it). I wonder if there's some kind of agreement so Grand Arcade (which only contains a few useful shops) gets to open while others don't.

Also, shame on the Giraffe Cafe, Mario's Hut, Savinos and Origin8 around the bus station (I didn't have time to go further afield, I had a bus to catch) for failing to sell any fruit. I appreciate supply and demand for fresh produce is difficult, but they seem to manage with bread, etc. Granted, Origin8 had strawberries but I was craving an apple (bizarre, I know). Special disregard for the Giraffe Cafe which had a fruit bowl for ornamental purposes only.

I've used FixMyStreet.com and emailed the County Council (as they have the only relevant web page I can find) about trying to get more no smoking signs in the bus station and getting the clock fixed. Now I shall try WriteToThem.com. I wonder if the lack of clock is so people don't notice when the buses are late. Like the stupid idea of having no clocks in cinemas (apart from our beloved Arts Cinema) so people don't rush and hence spend more money on junk food. I suppose they reckon everyone has a mobile phone these days. No, it's too early to get started on that rant...
