This quiz is one quite a few people are doing. So here I am sorted into Ravenclaw yet again.

You are a RAVENCLAW!

As a Ravenclaw and as an NFP, you are imaginative,
idea-oriented, and value intelligence. You may
be a non-conformist, and are probably good at
seeing new ways of doing things. You are
insightful and perceptive, and as an empathic
person who highly values harmony, you usually
try to avoid conflict. Of course, you may
enjoy participating in heated debates - but
only as long as they remain on an intellectual
level and not a personal level. In general,
you are open-minded and curious, and set high
standards for yourself.

Well now that I have that out of my system, I just have a quick question before I go on to gush about the movie I saw today. Is anyone else here on hsx.com? I set up an account with the Hollywood Stock Exchange almost two years and then I kind of forgot about it when I stumbled upon the ezboards. The other day I remembered it and thought I'd go see if my account was still there. It was and I've made a 50% profit on my initial investment!! This is with doing nothing in over a year and a half almost. The thing is, I bought up big on ROTK shares and all the LOTR actors and that must have paid off handsomely. It's a good little site to see how well you can predict the popularity of movies and actors and also a good way to see what's coming up long in advance.

Well, now for my movie review of the day. I went to see The Village at the cinema today and I loved it. It is probably the top film I have seen this year.

When I went into this film I thought the story would revolve around a village that had become left behind probably during the Industrial Revolution and that the "monsters" in the forest were most likely sounds of machinery, or of a city close by.

I was sitting there smugly when I found the creatures were fake even though I had not expected any of the villagers to know this. But the twists just kept coming and I truly enjoy this kind of movie. It had me on the edge of my seat, wondering what else could possibly come along. And never had I imagined that the story was set in a modern day world where the "elders" had themselves lived.

I thought Joaquin was great in his role along with Adrian Brodie. I very much liked their characters. Bryce Dallas Howard also did a good job in her role, but I found it hard to accept that a blind girl could navigate her way through the forest unaided and then make it all the way back. This is probably my greatest gripe with the story. Apart from that, I highly recommend it.

I know it's a completely different genre and world, but it reminds me of Anne McCaffrey's Drangonriders of Pern series. It is fascinating what myths and stories people end up creating and believeing and basing their whole existence around. When these "foundations of truth" are unveiled as false it makes for interesting reactions from the believers.
