Now settled in Manchester with new job starting in the new year - lots of forms and checks to fill in - impertinent questions about my health. It is a sort of library cum admin assistant job for a health resource library so should be quite pleasant and interesting.
From January I am also going to be delivering a course on Greek Myth at a college in Salford to adults which will be really good and exciting so it all seems to be working out at the moment.
The flat is in a big old victorian building not too far from the centre of town and is two reasonable size rooms - a living room with kitchenette and a bedroom. The ceilings are very high. We still need to sort out getting our stuff out of the vaults where they are stored - we had a look round one of them yesterday and took back a bit of kitchen stuff but it ended up being something of an ordeal when the taxi we ordered failed to come and we were stranded out on some industrial estate in the wet and cold for the best part of an hour until taxi finally arrived. Internet finally came on today so have been joyfully revisiting sites and exploring - for a couple of months its just been hurried sessions in public libraries and sneaky glimpses at work. I am going to make tea now and heat mince pies.
