abysmal.
could have been worse, but still. abysmal.
bad acting, bad dialogue, bad direction... and for a big-budget hollywood movie, really unconscionably bad makeup and cgi. and i am sick to fucking death of the rubber-fetish superhero costumes.
a few nice little touches here and there.
my favorite part of the movie (occurring in the first 10 minutes or so) was also the part that convinced me the rest probably wouldn't be worth watching -- when the silhouette grabs the nurse to kiss her on v-j day. i have never been the kind of guy that goes crazy seeing girls kiss, but oh-my-god that was so incredibly sexy. but it's an example of the movie bludgeoning you with something that, in the book, is subtle or buried.
and max headroom plays moloch.
