New Project?

Been trying to motivate myself to get some new projects started while I have the free time. Projects such as my EVE blog, trying to get some more coding practice in, and perhaps finally taking the plunge into a bigger project such as a podcast.

First off, to double pimp the EVE blog, I am trying to copy a bit of what Kill Ten Rats does with a multi-author blog on a unified subject. By making it a corporate blog, getting my inventors to write a bit about their current work and muse on EVE crap at their leisure, I hope to fill a unique spot in the ever growing EVE Blog Pack. Just need to prod enough people to get going.

Second, on the coding front, I am really trying to break my fear/inexperience of coding. There is nothing I can do to escape it, since my field pretty much requires it like a second language. I am hoping I can teach myself some python/pearl and perhaps write a few apps that will make my EVE life easier. Preferably a web app that would do API checking for me. Any advice on books/sites to look at to get my feet wet with some new code, would be appreciated.

Lastly, I am finally seriously considering creating a podcast. For the longest time I have shied away from the podcast/radio-DJ world, mostly for a fear of not being unique or interesting enough. The idea? A rock band DLC review. Something that will fit neatly into a 15-30min segment, I can produce a large backlog for times I am unable to update, and no one else is doing it (as far as I know). There are a few snags I need to overcome before I actually start (a title, hosting space, more hosts, audio editing software, microphone hardware) but I am kinda excited by the prospect of doing something fun and unique... or at least fulfilling the "I wish someone would do X" desire.

Anyway, speaking of rock band, gonna go rock with the kitsune!
