Loose bubble forming: to-be-named-later fairytale setting
I say loose because it exists mostly to hold this huge Pygmalion plot.
We have a prince and a soon-to-be-princess! Along the way we'll need friends, confidantes, servants, members of the court and the common people. Nothing is required, everything is invited.
I am particularly looking for a bff (male or female) for Prince Semyrsain (this friend may or may not stab him in the back), a warm-hearted lady's maid for the princess, and at least a couple of shrewish court ladies to antagonize and snub her while she learns the ropes. Stuffy tutors, kings and queens, the peasant-princess' dirty buddies from back home, all welcome... Court drama strongly encouraged. Further, people are free to take the setting and run with it as they please as long as the place of the central couple is respected.
In general the setting will be Ambiguous Otherworld That Seems Very Like Europe, shaded a little Prussian Empire, with plenty of details of convenience. Technology and manners will be appropriate to ehhh... call it the second half of the 1700s. Fashion, of course, we'll be making up on the fly. The only substantial cultural difference to note right now is that in this world there's no premium on virginity.
