Naruto 367 spoilers. Oh dear God, the spoilers.
So Blanky finally has a name--Minato. And Naruto finally has parents. AND NO ONE IS SURPRISED. This is probably the least shocking plot twist in manga history (Kishi didn't even devote a huge zomg shocking revelation panel to it for drama's sake; even he knew everyone had seen it coming).
So I'm kind of surprised at how excited I am to finally hear it anyway. This is bringing out all sorts of Inner Narutard in me that I haven't experienced in a while. I didn't even go into fanspasms when Sasuke finally met Itachi again last week (though that may have been partly because the Sasuke/Itachi dynamic doesn't interest me as much as the Sasuke/Naruto one--that, and I had a feeling there wasn't going to be a real fight between them just yet).
But I'm fanspasming today. I am talking in all caps and using the words "Oh my God" way too much. OMG THE FOURTH REALLY IS NARUTO'S DAD. OMG HIS DAD'S NAME IS MINATO AND HIS MOM'S NAME IS KUSHINA AND HE HAS HIS MOM'S LAST NAME PROBABLY BECAUSE HIS DAD'S WOULD HAVE MADE HIM A TARGET, AND HE LOOKS LIKE HIS DAD BUT HE ACTS JUST LIKE MOMMY. And again, there is really nothing in this revelation that was remotely unexpected, SO WHY IS THIS SO COOL.
I don't know, but it just is. Maybe even because we all saw it coming.
But we all know Kushina was totally Minato's hot secretary from the Whirlpool Country and they did it in his office and then she died and it was the politics, guys. That's the real truth and you know it.
EDIT: Almost forgot to mention, but I also love the fact that Kakashi was brought up as a potential future Hokage, and Jiraiya was like, "oh yeah, he's a given." Hell yes. Hokage Kakashi would be a mix of awesome, hilarious, and still more awesome.
