The system for getting out of Health in our school is dumb for the following reasons:
1. We were told we needed to pass the Health exam. As far as I know, all of us passed the Health exam. Declaring a C+ passing after we've taken the exam is dumb. Had we been told before we took exam that anything below a 76 was failing, this wouldn't be depressing, it would be understandable. Being average at Anchor Bay is, apparently, the equivalent of failing. Damn them all to hell.
2. They didn't give us books, we had to track books down. If I can get a C on an exam when I've skimmed through the book for about a day, it isn't worth taking.
3. I, for one, was told that I could go ahead and sign up for whatever classes I wanted to, as I could change an elective back to Health afterward if I didn't pass (which I did, see 1 if you've forgotten already). However, Mr. O kindly informed me that "alL THE CLasses for NEXt year are alREADY FillED." As this is a graduation requirement and I'm going to be a senior, don't you think that a freshman, with an alternative class choice already selected and three more years to take Health, could be taken out so as to allow me to graduate? The fact that they gave us the exam after "change your schedule time" is done in the first place is ridiculous, anyways. Damn them all to hell, again.
4. People have literally slept through the class and done fine. Schools shouldn't make kids take classes in common sense. For those of you who may not have taken Anchor Bay Health, there's an "Illness-Wellness Continuum," explaining that when you aren't ill, you're well, and visa-versa. If any class has anything that simplistic, it really isn't worth taking. Additionally, everyone knows that drugs, alcohol, and smoking are bad. I get it. You don't need to spend several chapters elaborating. It's common knowledge. So... dumb...
5. I GET IT. PENIS+VAGINA=BABY. And that's all anyone needs to know.
I don't know, perhaps a year of Computers, zero Health. You know, something that could potentially teach us something that we could use. I hope all of your kids go to my school. They'll learn what they need to know.
