Yesterday was fairly shit house. Everything at work was going wrong and it was so good to just get out of there. Too bad the bad luck didn’t end there.
The plan was to head to the gym, come home then leave for the movies. I was in so much of a rush I jumped on the wrong train that took me the wrong way. So pissed off. To add the situation, I realised I was on the wrong line just as the train going back into the city went past. This means I had to wait at the station for another 20 minutes before a train took me back. Grrr. By the point I finally got back in, I had missed the bus to head to the gym. Blegh. Instead I took the train home and cleaned up in time for the father in law to drop off my new benchtop mixer!!!
So I clean and pay all our bills online, only to open another one in the post. This time its actually a speeding fine for $138.
Mark gets back from karate, takes a quick shower and starts on dinner. The taco shells in our taco pack were mouldy. The packet was pierced. So instead we have a crispy chicken salad. Which was nice
Marks dad was due to come at 8pm. Mark told him we were going out later that night. At 8.07 he still wasn’t over. We were due to leave at 8.15. We give him a call letting him know we’re actually heading out and asked if he could come over tomorrow night instead. He sounded very short with me (and I know he was annoyed). It was fairly rude of us to cancel, but we did warn him we had plans to head out earlier. If we had waited we would have surely missed the session
So despite his aggravation we head out. Pick up Martin and rush to the cinema. The queue for tickets is heaps long. We finally get them and are seated (fairly decently) for the 8.45 session of Cloverfield. Martin decides to go for a bloody smoko during the end of the previews. The movie starts and he’s still not back. Mark leaves to go find him. This annoyed me more. Either way it wasn’t very long at all until both are back. The film I have to say was fantastic!!! The oldies (mark and martin) both found it very hard to watch. They both had lots of motion sickness (not throwing up thank god). It was so bad that mark had to keep his eyes closed for a lot of the film to stop him from getting sick. I on the other hand did not notice a thing. They make getting old sound terrifying. Anyway, so all in all the film was fantastic. I loved the drama and the perspective they filmed from. It was great watching one person’s journey through such a traumatic/historic experience. Id have to say it’s probably one of my favourite films :-D
Anywho the film actually made my night, despite all of the other shit.
I still feel bad about the in-laws, but if the situation was reversed they would have chose the same. We suggested a specific time, and they were running slightly late. Next time I know to leave a larger window for them to visit. We’ll learn from our mistakes.
