First Event: Body Swap

Oct 15, 2009 20:26

After some confusion in the kitchen, many nations retired to their rooms’ right after dinner, a few others remained around for a few rounds of drinking. The thing is, none of them really knew what had really triggered things.

As they slept, snug in their beds, many cuddling with their loved ones, none of them had any idea just what was happening to ( Read more... )

It had been an agitated night in the hotel. Ivan found the party funny, even though in the beginning he couldn’t help but disapprove the idea of being in a deserted island with his fellow nations. But the party was good. Now he was resting peacefully in his room, seeing that odd vacation with some optimism.

Even if his little sister was sleeping by the door, outside the room.
Well, that was something that was likely to happen despite the environment. Getting used wasn’t a good expression, but that fact didn’t bother him that much, or at least didn’t change his new mood. If they kept having more parties, staying in that island would be relaxing, just like his boss wanted.

Ivan didn’t even remember the dream he had before - it didn’t make sense, but he had the feeling of seeing things trough someone else’s body. He wasn’t sure who, but it wasn’t him, that much he was sure. Whether that was a prediction or not, he didn’t know. Right now, that wasn’t a worry.

While the night moved on quiet and dreamlessly, Ivan changed his position on the bed almost unconsciously. That was when he felt there was someone sleeping on the same bed as him.

B-Belarus...?

Have he underestimated his sister’s skills to invade rooms? He opened his eyes slowly and once more he got surprised.

It was Estonia.

And he was hugging him?

He stared blankly at the person beside him and then closed his eyes again. Haha... a dream? That was surely a dream, one of those which you realize what it is while you’re still in it. Later he would wonder what his unconscious was trying to say to him creating a dream that involved him sharing a bed with Estonia.

Ivan was still about to find out the real surprise about that “dream”.

((I hope I'm in the right place, haha, and in the right... eh, wrong body XD))

As he begun to enter consciousness, Vash slowly realized his dreams just wouldn’t cease. He remembered it clearly, more like a nightmare. He had been stuck in a tropical island, a different one, and there was fish all over...

Without even opening his eyes, he made his second coherent thought: Eduard was missing. I wonder… And the fish still wouldn’t leave his head.

Switzerland then got sat up, feet hitting the wooden flooring much harder than what he was used to; had the bed gotten closer to the floor?

But it wasn’t important; his messy thoughts about sea life still wouldn’t leave his head. He even tried punching himself a couple of times, but it was no use. In fact, it only got worse, as now he could hear a few other muffled voices inside his head as well.

Face going back to his usual frown, he got up, and looking down, he noticed more things that weren’t exactly how he remembered. When exactly had he gotten pyjamas on?

“Hm… Eduard? When did this--” Nowait. It wasn’t his regular pitch, and not like he would ever admit, but his voice sounded deeper than usual.

The Swiss looked around the room, easily spotting an extra bed and Veneziano, completely unashamed, sleeping on it. What the hell is that stupid pasta head doing in my room?! But wait… It wasn’t his room.

It was then that he saw it. A mirror. Dead eyes, hairpins and a floating curl. Norway was staring back at him.

Vash tried to suppress the urge to scream in both rage and horror. He failed.

“Nonononono-……Damn it. Damn it all.”

With his new eyes narrowing dangerously, Vash stomped out of the room, making sure to slam the door as hard as he could, trampling anyone who dared be on his way, making a straight line to his original room, in order to get his guns back.

On his way, Switzerland glared. He knew one of those bastards were guilty. Noo, things like this don’t just happen. Oh no. Must be the German bastard’s fault. Whenever something huge happen, it’s usually him. Maybe, but who knew? Could be anyone. Bunch of crazy people. Tch.

Hitting the door with loud knocks, he waited. Eduard had three seconds to open it before the Swiss found a way to bring it down himself. The angry nation barely registered thoughts that didn’t belong to himself as he repeated a mantra in his head.

I’m so going to kill someone today.

When the door was knocked loudly, Ivan moved on the bed again, waking up annoyed. “Natalia... it’s still early... don’t knock the door like--” He stopped mumbling abruptly, sitting up on the bed at once, taking his hands to his throat. There was something wrong with his voice... that pitch wasn’t his usual. Not only that, but his hair was different too, longer, as he could notice while passing his hands through it Then, he brought his hands in front of him, and they were smaller. His body was smaller too; it was easy to notice even with the sheets covering him. He wasn’t wearing his pajamas anymore either. Lastly, he swallowed and looked slowly to his side. Estonia was still there.

Without thinking twice, he stood up, throwing the sheets over the other, and walked in a fast pace to the bathroom, tripping on the way due to his complete inadequacy to such a different body. Leaning his hands on the sink, he looked on the mirror to find not him but Switzerland looking back with growing fright.

“HAAAAAAAH???” That was the only sound he could force through his mouth to express fully his disbelief. No, no, that situation was just plain wrong. That was a dream, for sure.

That had to be a dream.

He took a deep breath and closed his eyes. Calm down, calm down... alright, subconscious, this is not funny anymore... I guess it’s time to wake up, da? Saying that to himself, he focused on his room, his scarf, his belongings, and slowly opened his eyes.

Switzerland was still looking back at him.

That couldn’t be... he couldn’t leave his own dream? In fact, he was feeling too conscious for a dream, but... still...

That. That couldn’t be real.

Or could it? Or was he hallucinating? Half awake, half sleeping maybe?

“I guess extreme measures will need to be taken” he said while slightly glaring, his tone getting more and more anxious. What he needed was a strong stimulus. Yes, really strong. With that resolution in mind, Ivan started to slap himself repeatedly until he got tired of it and he opened his eyes once more.

Switzerland. In the mirror. And now his cheeks were burning and aching and probably very red and that couldn’t feel any more real than it already was.

He was in someone else’s body.

No, no, he wasn’t. If not dreaming, then he was hallucinating. It definitely was a hallucination. What else could it be? Not what the mirror was showing him, no doubts about that.

But this doesn’t explain how I ended up in Eduard’s room... and where the hell is the real Switzerland?

Ivan couldn’t organize his own thoughts; the anxiety had taken over him. He couldn’t even remember there was someone knocking the door, or notice if anything else had happened while he was fighting with the mirror. He turned to the door, smiling quite frantically and completely confused. “Estonia! Estonia, tell me, who do you see here? Who am I?” What is going on with me?

((so long... and kind of OOC? I don't know... I really don't know anymore... *joins Russia in the confusion* XD this is the last time I'll repost, I promise :'D))

Switzerland waited. No, really. He waited. For five seconds. Faint sounds came from inside, which meant that Eduard was awake.

Smacking the door harder to the point of getting his wrists hurt, Vash insisted, louder. “Damn it, Eduard. OPEN THE DOOR.” Ugh… He stopped for a moment, choking on his new throat. His voice sounded so weird.

Wait a minute. His voice. He could… Hear his voice from inside the room. It… Can’t be possible... Can it?

Despite the rage boiling inside him, Switzerland fell silent for a minute, barely understanding his own muffled voice coming from inside, with distant water sounds from possibly a sink. But something else caught his attention.

The faint crackling sound that seemed like a broken radio inside his own head slowly started to make sense…

/Ca-- do-- ght, subcons--is is no--ny an--ore../.

What the hell did that mean?! Much like the fish earlier in the other room, he couldn’t explain the thoughts on his head… Just vague pieces of words… Focusing better on the sounds, he listened again

/--ess it’s t-- to wak-- da?/ Stop. He was more confused than ever. Who was saying those things? He definitely wasn’t hearing anything…

Maybe it’s Norway’s head… Scandinavian weirdo is cuckoo up there, is that it? And then it clicked. Hold on… …Couldn’t he… …No. Way.

Vash could randomly read minds as well now? And as he realized, the noises inside his head got a lot louder, none of it much clear.

Visibly flinching at the new volume his head was running, the Swiss snarled. “Perfect.”

He tried to ignore the random thoughts of… naked man coming from inside the room… and a sudden, random /Booooobs!/ as someone ran around the hallway. He couldn’t even picture who it was, but neither voice inside his head was completely unfamiliar.

Bringing a hand to his forehead, Switzerland rubbed his temples; it was way too early to get a headache. Sighing, he tried to listen what was going on inside his room again. Slowly, the words begun to make a little sense.

--oesn’t expla-- ended --duard’s room...where-- real Switzer--

…So whoever was inside… His body was probably there… Damnit.

Now it really seemed his only option was getting inside his room. The volume of his knocks rose considerably, he could feel his wrists hurting already, but he couldn’t care less.

“OPEN THE DAMN DOOR OR I’LL TEAR IT DOWN.”

((I’m not sure how to do this… So I got him getting used to them? But I put other people’s thoughts in between / /, sorry if I messed up again…))

The repeated pounding on the door annoyed Hungary as she tried to sleep longer; she was up late last night, taking pictures for her 'collection'. Elizaveta tiredly grabs the covers and pulls it over her head until a loud yell of disbelief overpowered the knocks of the door. She suddenly sits up and looks around the room sleepily, wondering what was going on. The first thing she noticed was the fact that this room did not look like the one she shared with Poland-san. Next was her vision being blurry, regardless of her rubbing the sleepiness out of her eyes...

As Elizaveta stretched out her arms, the pressure that is usually in her chest area was gone...she put her hands to her chest and felt nothing! ' That certainly did NOT happen yesterday! And I thought I was wearing that pretty nightgown too....? ' She thought, confusion appearing on her face.

She put it to the side when she saw someone come out (what she thought was) the bathroom door. She squinted her eyes to see who it was and wondered if the person was referring to her as he talked. (Because NO she was certainly not Estonia-san!) Elizaveta deduced that the voice was Switzerland-san, but it was odd, he sounded so confused.

"Estonia? What are you talking about Switzerland-san? Did you have a little TOO much to drink last night? I'm H-" She started but she realized she was talking to him with a low-pitched voice...something she knew she did not have. And before she could question herself more, there was an interruption by an extremely angry voice. She turns her head to the the door and thinks,

'Oh my, someone's really angry this morning...though I wonder who it is. It's on the tip of my tongue, the voice sounds familiar..but who?"'

Hungary thinks that maybe she should open the door before the angry person breaks it down. So she sluggishly got off the bed and went for the door. Unfortunately her sight was still blurry that she did not notice the bed in the way and runs into it and hurts her legs. She goes to rubs them and accidentally touches something that she should not HAVE...unless it finally grew after hundreds of years...Prussia was so wrong! And she was right!

"Ha!" She suddenly cheered, not caring who was there or not, "See? I told you I'd grow one Prussia! I was right!"

Ivan’s smile faded, turning into a blank expression. Estonia’s answer wasn’t what he was expecting. But what was he really expecting by now?

“But... I’m not... I’m not Switzerland... and what are you talking about? what did gro-- AH” Ivan leaned his hand on the doorframe while talking, but what happened then was a succession of weird events. His hand literally passed through the wall, making him lose his balance. He only had the time to see part of his - no, the Swiss arm between two sides of the wall, in a way that involved or a broken wall, or a hole, or a lot of pain. He didn’t feel either of them; instead he felt quite ethereal, sensation that was aggravated when his head and part of his torso followed the same path of the arm, passing through the wall and finishing an ungraceful fall. He still tried to grab whatever that could be in the way, but failed miserably. The next thing he was aware of was the floor getting closer, his forehead hitting it and the great pain the impact caused.

“Ouch, ouch ouch....” What just happened now? He turned, laying his back against the floor. The entire room was spinning furiously, making him feel dizzier and slightly nauseated. Ivan closed his eyes.

Could this... be real? It feels real... very real. The pain, at least, is.

But it is too illogical! Absurd!

But since when the world made sense?

Still... wait a second. Didn’t he just passed through the wall as if it wasn’t there? Wasn’t that Switzerland’s power? Does this mean....?

“Ugh...” he sat up, eyes still closed, rubbing his now forehead, still nauseated. He was just plain confused. Everything was telling him that he was in fact in someone else’s body. But could he really believe in his senses? If so... what happened to his body? Was it soulless now? The idea didn’t amuse him at all.

He just wanted to suddenly find out he was talking to a lampshade. Yes, he had had a somnambulism crisis and was walking randomly through the hotel and talking to the objects - hallucinating or dreaming, the name had no importance. People would find that funny, but wouldn’t dare to laugh, afraid of his reaction, even though he would laugh of himself. How he wished that to be true. But it seemed it wasn’t going to happen anytime soon.

His initial panic wasn’t as strong as before, but he wasn’t feeling well at all. “Estonia...” he looked to the other nation, who seemed to be quite out of him as well. “Eduard... this is not my real body... I’m not Switzerland... I’m Russia... I have no idea what happened...” he sounded more despaired then he wanted, but he didn’t know what to think or how to behave anymore.

Ivan then turned to the door. He forgot there was someone quite angry out there. “This is a bad time, come back later.” Or rather, don’t come back. I have to find out what happened to me...

I want to go back to my body now!

As Vash recovered from another round of punching the goddamn door senselessly, as his knuckles were beginning to protest, getting red and really sensitive to the touch, he slowly realized how lean Norway was.

Damn it. And this stupid headache... Ugh. Damn, I need to get inside.

He tried to focus on his plan, what were his options? Wait for people to start getting up?

“Nonono. Not a good idea, Vash.” He spoke quietly, to himself. “Hm…”

The Swiss looked at the door again, eyeing it as if it was alive and ready to eat him in a single bite. Maybe I could… make a run for it…

“This is a bad time, come back later.” Came a girly voice from inside. Switzerland glared harder at the door, who the hell was that? What the hell was Eduard doing (with whoever that was) not to open the stupid door.

Oh yes, the Estonian was going to get it when Vash finally got around that door.

Studying the wooden portal again, and looking down on his new self, the Swiss decided that he definitely wouldn’t be able to run over it… Much less with his very own blockade inside. Stupid door. CKJNCIHDiuhc!

On a last fury strike, Switzerland let out a loud howl threw a kick at it. A high one. Hard.

And as soon as his new foot collided with the hard wood, he regretted. The pain that came from it almost made him flinch. His jaw locked itself shut, and his frown got about ten times worse than it already was.

“AAAAaaaaagfhguhtgiuh!” Vash needed to kill something. And if it wasn’t with his own guns, he would find others. Someone else on that god forsaken island ought to have more guns, right?

Ludwig. Ludwig was always ready for fight. Stupid potato head…

Right, if his next plan didn’t work… He would have to hunt down Germany. Knocking the door loudly again, he took a deep breath, trying to lower his tone.

“Eduard. It’s Vash, open the door.”

No, he wasn’t calmer. Far from it, he had hit that dangerously low voice that meant real trouble.

Ivan kept looking at the door as someone outside was desperately trying to enter the room. Whoever was there, it wasn’t going to give up at all.

“Eduard. It’s Vash, open the door.”

Ivan stood up startled. Has he heard it right? Vash? The Vash that now he saw in the mirror instead of his old self? He walked toward the door, frowning, and stopped in front of it, without opening it. He didn’t touch the door either, afraid that what happened before could repeat itself once more. There was a huge mess inside his head and the more he tried to put things in order, the more confused he felt.

“Vash...?” He hesitated then for a moment. “Switzerland, is that you?”

If the Swiss is here... what the hell am I? Why am I not myself?

Either the answer to his nightmare or an addition to the chaos was after that door. Things could get better. Things could get a lot worse. It was only a matter of opening the damn door. Ivan couldn’t help but hesitate at that though. He wanted, demanded answers, but there was a huge possibility of him not getting any. Or getting even more questions in his head.

“Whatever”.

He glanced at Estonia briefly, before opening the door at once, fast and impulsively, before he would regret doing so.

“Ah.”

((dun dun dun, cliffhanger~ *SHOT multiple times*))

Elizaveta turned to her focus back to Switzerland when she realized he was talking to her once again. Not Switzerland? But that was impossible, it sounded like him. Also, her vision maybe blurry but this form was definitely Switzerland-san. His sudden cry of surprised caused her to break from her thoughts. He just suddenly went through the wall and fell to the ground?! That was definitely Switzerland's power, if she recalled.

“Didn't I tell you earlier that I am not Estonia? Switer-RUSSIA?! How could you be Russia?” Elizaveta asked, confused.

The lower pitch of her voice still bothered her and once she bought her hand to her head, she freaked out internally. Where was her hair? It took years to make it nice and beautiful! Did that THING that finally grew take her hair away? She needed to check it out! But before Hungary ran to the bathroom mirror; a loud kick to the door is heard, followed by a loud yell of pain.

“Eduard. It’s Vash, open the door.”

“For the last time, Eduard's not here! I'm Elizaveta!” She calls out to the door, annoyed. “Go somewhere else Vash......”

'VASH? But that was Switzerland's name....maybe this person was Russia after all.' She thought, trying to poll her thoughts together.

And then the door was opened by Russia....

Switzerland was not happy.

His head was really starting to annoy him, random bits of thoughts coming into his mind with no invitation, neither making much sense to him as he tried to grow used to his “new” power. Now there were his wrists, red and slightly swollen from the punches he had been throwing at the hard wooden door.

And now his leg, but wouldn’t dare think about that.

As that same girly voice spoke from a little earlier spoke again… “Vash...?” A pause. “Switzerland, is that you?”

Seriously now, he was not in the mood for a stupid interrogatory.

“Ack, who else on this goddamn island would be called Vash if not me!? Enough with the brainless questions, just let me in, damn it!”

“Didn't I tell you earlier that I am not Estonia?” Wait, was Eduard still drunk? That was obviously his voice.

Of course, the thick headed gun man didn’t think for the smallest moment that others aside him could have been affected by whatever… thing that had locked him in Norway’s body.

“For the last time, Eduard's not here! I'm Elizaveta!” She calls out to the door, annoyed. “Go somewhere else Vash......”

What the hell is Eduard trying to do?! Uuuugh!

The Swiss was about to yell again and hit the door again when it opened.

He blinked. Once, twice.

Back inside of the room, holding the door open, there was… Himself. With his hair still messy and still pant less; exactly how he had been when he went to bed last night.

The Norway standing outside held a mix of emotions going on in his face; first he was fuming, them there was a slight hint of surprise and confusion, then a faint blush, but in the end it all came down to the furious scowl he had had before. Damn it!

“WHO ARE YOU?!” He demanded, already barging into the room and walking into his own direction, trying to corner the “other” Switzerland into the wall.

((uaaaaaaaaaaaaah eu esqueci!!! Desculpa, acho que não dá pra salvar a cama ;___; *FAILS* Oh, I said I was Russia, two posts ago if I'm not mistaken :D))

“... Norway?”

Ivan wasn’t really sure what to think. So... it was Norway who was outside all this time? But didn’t he just say he was Vash?

And what has Eduard just said? He said he is...

Before he could say or think anything else, Norway entered the room, walking angrily toward his direction. Ivan took a few steps back, trying to maintain a certain distance from the other. Who he was? The night before, that would be a really stupid question, but now... now...

“You know... I’ve been asking myself that too, before I went to sleep, I was Russia... n-no, I am Russia! But for some reason I’m not me, there must be something wrong with me, I’ve been wondering what it is, because this can’t be... oh wait a minute.” He was getting slightly hysterical again, saying his thoughts from the last minutes all at once, but then he stopped as Estonia’s words finally managed to pass through the chaos of his mind. He turned to the Baltic nation, puzzled. “Have you... just said you’re... Elizaveta? You’re telling me you’re Hungary?!” Then he turned to Norway. “And it was you saying you’re Vash?”

He looked from one to another a few times. “But... I’m not... seeing you... as you claim... to... be...” Not only he was seeing himself as someone else, but he was also seeing the others not as themselves? That was going too far, too far! What kind of prank was that his brain had created? That couldn’t be real!

No wonder Elizaveta couldn't recognize the voice, it was Norway-san! He doesn't speak much, but even so, hearing him angry is very surprising. Wonder what Switzerland-san did to Norway-san to make him so aggravated...

She put her hand to her hips and answered to the Swiss, "Yes I am Hungary, who else would I be? Also Russia-san, you are also not claiming who you are by sight...how much have you had to drink yesterday?"

This was strange, Norway-san claiming to be Vash and Switzerland-san claiming to be Ivan/Russia. Elizaveta wonders whether her body changing on her had something to do with this as well...

Russia?! How could he be Russia?!

But then again... Himself was, well, Norway. Maybe whatever had happened to him, had happened to others?

Sighing, Vash stared into his-- no, Russia's eyes. Ugh, this is weird... But that is obviously me, damn it!

"I'm not Norway, did you pay any attention to what I said? I'm Switzerland, DAMN IT ISDAasdiuh NOT NORWAY!"

Blinking in confusion, the Swiss looked away for a moment, into the room.

Eduard was also there, just like he had last seen him, pyjama pants that matched his own shirt, but he seemed to be squinting his eyes to be able to see.

Yes I am Hungary, who else would I be?

Truth be told, Eduard's speech was rather girly-like that morning, even if the voice itself wasn't the girly one he had heard before.

Remembering his own new power for a moment, Vash tried to focus on the puzzled look on Estonia's face, then shifting to the almost matching confused look on what seemed to be Russia.

Indeed, seemed neither was lying.

If that was Hungary... Where the hell was Eduard?!

"Put your glasses on, Ed--... Hungary."

((sem problema! :D))

Ivan was looking at both with utter confusion.

“I-I only drank vodka last night! I didn’t even feel dizzy...” Could the party last night be related to this? “So... Estonia is Hungary... Norway is Switzerland... and Switzerland is...” me, Russia... Ivan slowly crouched, keeping his head down, desperately trying to put some sense into his head. He still couldn’t believe his own eyes and ears... only if he could find a proof he was hallucinating or not...

“Ah...!”

Ivan stood up abruptly, “I know!” and then grabbed Estonia’s hand, pulling the other to the bathroom, pointing emphatically to the mirror. “Tell me...” He turned to ‘Norway’ “You too come here!” Then he turned back to ‘Estonia’. “Tell me who you see there! Do you see yourself, Est-- Hungary? Or do you see someone else?!”

He had no other idea about what to do... he only knew he needed to find at least a strand of reality to clench - whatever that could be. Or he would be trapped in that weird dream forever.

"Glasses? When did I need glasses?" Elizaveta asked rhetorically but to humor him, she walked to them on the bedside table...After tripping around a couple more times before she even reached the table.) Once she put them on, her sight surprisingly came back, nothing was blurry anymore! But how did Norway who claims himself to be Switzerland knew that she needed to wear glasses??

And before she could ask, Switzerland who thought he was Russia dragged her to the bathroom mirror. And what she saw shocked her...Eduard-san?! She put her hand to her face, not surprisingly Eduard's did the same...

"W-w-what's going o-on?! W-why do I l-look like Eduard-san?!"

Vash frowned again, not in anger but deep in thought, as his body-Russia-dragged him and Ed-Hungary into the bathroom. Both seemed to be as confused as himself on the matter, if not worse.

“D-damn it. I can’t think of how this happened. Ugh…”

Think, Vash, damn. You don’t drink. It couldn’t have been any… vodka, as Russia says…

Snarling to himself, Switzerland’s hands were curled into tight fists.

“I’m killing whoever did this. Twice if the bastard doesn’t know how to change us back.”

Saying that, the Swiss stepped back into his room, moving over to his luggage Inserting the code for it, opening the lid to reveal several kinds of guns in it.

The short tempered man picked up a few, dressing them up on top of Norway’s navy blue pyjamas, still mumbling terrible curses under his breath, strapping two holsters across his chest and another on his waist, all of which still hanging slightly unadjusted, unused to the bigger body.

“I’m out for hunting.” Glaring, he continued. “You two, stay here.”

No, he wasn’t caring for either Hungary or Russia. He just wanted his Eduard’s and his own body where he could keep track of them.
