Gobblegobblegobble!

Mariothon 2005 was fastery, efficientery, and decidedly more German than Mariothon 2004. Matt, Mike and myself dominated Super Mario Brothers, Super Mario Brothers [The Lost Levels] (known as Super Mario Brothers II in Japan, it was never officially released here because NoJ feared its difficulty would be too much for the frail American gamer. Pshaw. It later appeared on the SNES mario compilation Super Mario All-Stars), Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, and we were working on Super Mario Brothers III when I had to go home to sleep, as by then there were a mere two hours from the time I was supposed to depart for the Cape.

Turkeyfest 2005 was a huge success, the Family went to Cape Cod to hang out with our pseudo-cousins the Levines. Pseudo-cousins simply because we're several orders of magnitude distanced from them (at least by terms of bloodline). The Matriarch, Jill Levine, is my father's cousin, making her son Jake and daughter Libby my second cousins. And, let us not forget, that Jill was adopted into the family. No blood. Not like it matters, family is family. I'm closer to them than the vast majority of my blood relatives.

I returned to Philly on Saturday night, just in time to catch Coleman's 20th birthday celebration. 20! Old! We're all getting so old! Makes me feel kinda blah to be 19, it's a bit of a letdown during the exciting stretch of birthday landmarks of 18, 20, and 21. Matt brought a triceratops-shaped piñata and it was filled with delicious candy. He also brought three bottles, all filled with delicious booze, which I used to destroy Nora's sock. Despite the place smelling like a turn-of-the-century opium den, I had a grand old time. Scott remains one of the funniest people I know.

My long overdue reunion with the perpetually adorable Lucy came at around 7:30 on Sunday night. We ate all sorts of diabetes-inducing Kentucky candies and set fire to popcorn until we, like her room, carried the overpowering aroma of movie theatres.

Pictures as soon as I get my shit together.
