Torchwood breaks down a lot of barriers through the use of sexuality as well as through the use of storylines.

Jack's sexuality is like the rest of his character ambigious, you can't really tell if he is a total good guy or a total bad guy, in someways he's the way a guy or bi guy would be when they first come out of the closet.

We identify that aspect by the fact he can't die, so his sexual liberation and his daredevil charm makes him appealing to all.

Ianto as we have seen in a few episodes has this admiration and perhaps secert liking for Jack and since Ianto is from the last 20th to the start of the 21st century his feelings for Jack could be considered by modern standards as forbidden fruit / love.

So therefore Ianto idolises while at the same times may well desire to have Jack, this is why in from my critical soap box their relationship is again sexually as well as humanistically ambigious.

There is a high percentage of women that find gay sex and sensuality a turn on, mostly it is because from their stand point on life, heterosexual men have not grasped the concept of the difference between sexual and sensual loving.

When two men engage in love making it is not uncommon on to how to women make love, they explore each others turn on's and erogenous zones because they know what is good for them.

A woman who watches movies where there are two gay men and they engage in sexual activity (e.g. Latter Days) want to be the where the man who is on the bottom is. They desire to have that love.
