Have you seen the japanese animated film, Princess Mononoke? Obviously, the giant wolves on which the title character rides are bigger than real wolves. I thought the same of the boars in the movie:

What. The. Fuck.

I am now officially scared to leave the house knowing that such a creature could exist in the wild.

I am tempted to call photoshoppe, but, uh, maybe there are such horrors in the world. That beast is bigger than a rhino!

But, really, I love that such creatures of prehistoric dread still stalk the earth.

it's a total fake IMO -- there's a minor bruhaha about its authenticity going on at the moment.

you know it's a fake because they claim it weighed-in at 1000 pounds... but a decent dize beef steer weighs about a ton and run-of-the-mill farm pigs weigh 1500 pounds -- this thing would be more like 2 tons.

and much like hogzilla, the only people who ever saw this mythical beast were the 2 people who shot it.

if you go to the dad's site for this thing -- monsterpig.com, you can see pictures that are much more easily identified as photoshopped or tricks of perspective.

FAKERY! he's just trying to make a quick buck.

You know what screams FAKE to me is that an 11 year old boy would kill a boar of that size with a HANDGUN?!

Any creature of that size in reality, like a grizzly bear, or hell, even a smaller real boar, if you were to shoot with a gun like that, they'd just get pissed and take it out on you.

this has now been thoroughly debunked on stinkyjournalism.org. as i thought, it was all a perspective trick. in fact, a pig expert said it wasn't even a wild pig but a run-of-the-mill farm pig.

also, on monsterpig.com the dad made a mistake and posted a picture of the kid with the pig's skull:
