Voting Bonanza!
OMG, I voted yesterday! Did you?
It was a total party. Like this one chick was in her voting both and spilled her martini on me, and I said, "Oh, gurrrl, no you did NOT," and she was all, "Whoa, sorry, get up out my grille!" and I was all, "Just playin' sista! Let's dish. Who do you think the hottest candidate is?" and then she bought me a mai tai, we turned in our ballots, and retired to the chill-out room where some election workers were passing out "party favors".
Well, it would have been, except that there was nobody else there when I voted, and the staffers all looked slightly depressed and extremely bored. I haven't yet seen any of the results, except that Jan Drago seems clearly to be the leader of her pack.
After I voted, I was walking down Broadway (unfortunately), and ran into a friend, Marcus. We made small talk. He was going home, and asked what I was doing. "Running some errands," I replied. I was worried it would happen this way. When we passed Castle Superstore, and I stopped to go in, I imagine he thought, '"Errands", my ass!"'
Later I went to my friend, Ali's place to meet a bunch of theater friends to sit around and read a play together. So cultural! We read the first act of Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit, which was light and charming. I got to read as the eccentric medium and clairvoyant, Madame Arcati. We also drank wine, and when it was running low, most people were disgusted by my combination of Charles Shaw and Coca Cola to make my drink last longer. I'm telling you, it's good.
p.s. I keep hearing good things about this Rome series on HBO, but so far it's boring the shit out of me. And the helmets look plastic. Carnivale was so much better.
