No one can live in the light all the time...

Apr 07, 2007 22:22

I was here a little over a month ago and I got stamped as Ann, but I'm absolutely nothing like Ann (and because of the fact that her personality is so incredibly different from mine, not because I think I'm prettier or something silly like that), so I was hoping I could get a more accurate stamp this time. :)?

Name: Anna, but I go by my nickname Ichi.

Age: 17

Location: Brooklyn, NY.

Are you open to cross-gender votes? Sure.

Would you be open to being voted as characters who are not in your age range? Would you prefer to be voted as a character who is within your age range? Whoever fits be closest is prefered, regardless of age.

1. What are your three defining positive traits? Explain how you exhibit each trait in everyday life.
1. I'm passionate: I stand up for what I believe in and I loooove to talk XD;
2. I'm kind: I love to help people and I try to be nice to everyone, unless they are not nice to me. I'm friendly most of the time.
3. I'm smart: I try to make wise choices and avoid doing risky or stupid things.

2. What are your three defining negative traits? Explain how you exhibit each trait in everyday life.
1. I'm selfish: from time to time, I forget that I'm not the only important person on the planet and sometimes tend to think of myself before others
2. I'm stubborn: If I have my heart or mind set on something, it's near impossible to change my mind.
3. I'm judgemental: I like to see things in black and white and often condemn people for things I know don't necessarily make them a bad person.

3. If you were studying in Spence, which would be your favorite place? (By the lake, garden, church, caves, etc.) Why?
Probably the garden. I love flowers and gardens in general because they make me feel peaceful and cheerful. Plus, if I were in the garden, it'd probably be spring or summer, which are my favorite seasons because they have that atmosphere of renewal and love and etc...

4. Would you have stolen the wine from the church in order to be in Felicity's group? Why or why not? If you weren't part of their crowd, what kind of clique would you be in, if any? Why?
Probably not. I would have suspected that they wanted to lock me in, and I'm too much of a goody-two-shoes to do anything like that anyway. I'd be worried about getting caught or in trouble...that kind of stuff.
I doubt I'd be part of a clique because they're really not my thing. Instead I'd most likely befriend a girl or two and just hang out with them. I'd rather have one or two very close friends than a lot of not-so-close friends.

5. If the Door of Light were to appear in front of you and you were to go into the realms, what would you choose to do in them? What would they be like for you?
I'd probably just wander around and check the place out. I'd be amazed by the beauty of the place, so doing only that could easily entertain me. Besides, when I find I have a large amount of options, like in this case the power to do anything, I have come to learn that I often don't know what to do because I suppose I am overwhelmed by the possibilities.

6. Do you think the power of the realms should be shared by the members of the Order? Why or why not?
Only if they werre the type of people who could handle/deserved it. In other words, if they were power-hunger or inclined towards "the dark side" or something like that, obviously I think it should not be sharded with them. Unfortunately, it is not always easy to tell who "deserves" power and who doesn't, so I guess my answer is that it shouldn't be shared because you can never really tell if the people that have the power are going to use it right.

7. If you were a woman living in the Victorian Era, what do you think your life would have been like based on how it is now, your ambitions, and place in society?
I think it's a stretch for anyone to say that they were born with their beliefs and ideals, so I'm not going to claim I would be as feministic as I am now if I lived back then. On the other hand, I cannot imagine myself as quiet and reserved as Victorian women were expected to be, so I don't know what to say. I think I would probably be like Gemma: quite progressive internally, but not too quick to show it on the outside for fear of being ostracized by society.

8. If you were granted power by the realms and could use it inside and outside of the realms, what would you choose to do with it?
Probably the first thing I'd do is try to fix people's physical problems because I want to be a doctor and I love the idea of helping people. Then I'd do some selfish stuff like fix my own physical imperfections. After that, maybe I'd have some fun messing with people like Gemma and the others did (but not as much! XD).

9. What is your favorite scene (A Great and Terrible Beauty and Rebel Angels combined)? Why?
There are so many, but I particularly love any scenes that Kartik is in. He's such a great character and I really like his relationship with Gemma, so Iove any scene that he's in more and any others.

10. What is your favorite quote from the books? Why?
Like I said before, I don't remember the exact wording, but if I recall correctly, Miss Moore said something about how there is not really good or evil in the world when she and the girls were looking at paintings in the second book. I like it because a part of me agrees that that no is truly all bad or good, but instead we all have a "good side" and a "bad side" that are in a constant struggle for control of our conscious and actions.

11. Pick one character among Gemma, Felicity, Ann, and Pippa. Tell us what she (the character you chose) could have done differently. (We are sure you did not agree with their every action.)
Like I said before, I hate how Gemma was so taken with Simon Middleton that she sort-of snubbed Kartik. I always had a sneaking suspicion that there was something not right about Simon, and she still didn't seem to get that even after he almost date-raped her (that's what it was for Victorian Era!). The scene where she threw Kartik's note into the fire because she felt so cocky that Simon like her really annoyed me.

12. Which A Great and Terrible Beauty/Rebel Angels older character would you consider as a good role model? Why?
Like I said before, Virginia Doyle, because she moved on from the mistakes she made to become a stronger, better person. She loves her children and did what's best for them always and put other people's happiness and well-being before her's.

13. Sort these words in order of appeal to you: beauty - glory - security - power - wealth - self-fulfillment - freedom. Explain your answer.
Just as before:
Self-fulfillment first because it’s the only way to ever be truly happy.
Security then because no one can be happy and insecure at the same time for very long.
Freedom because I’d suffocate without it.
Glory because I’ve always wanted a little.
Power because I could do anything with it
Wealth because it can lead to power.
Beauty because it is a nice quality to have, but it is last because it’s in the eye of the beholder and thus subjective.

14. If possible, please post one or more pictures of yourself here. This is not mandatory, but if you do have pictures, you're encouraged to post them.
I've posted them before here: http://community.livejournal.com/spence_rate/9980.html#cutid1

Sorry to re-post, but, like I said before, I was not very thrilled about being stamped as Ann, because we really have nothing in common (except for the fact that we are both singers). I would really very much appreciate you re-stamping with someone who fits me better. Thanks in advance, and sorry again!
