Facts So Fun, They Must Be True!
- It is estimated that up to 83% of American coleslaw goes uneaten!
- The phrase "Oh is that what it means? Never mind, then," is actually copyrighted by Johnny Carson and NBC. Anytime somebody says those words on television, they owe NBC and its subsidiaries $12,500. Nobody has said it however since Howard Cosell in a 1983 taping of Monday Night Football on ABC!
- Sarcasm didn't exist the way we know it today until 1784!
- Glenn Burke and Dusty Baker are often credited with inventing the high five! During a routine Sunday afternoon game, Baker scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Burke. When he came home, Burke raised his hand as high as he could, and the rest is history!
- In yiddish, the word bagel means "to ride a horse." To this day nobody knows why they ended up calling those baked rings of bread bagels!
