So my mom always falls asleep with the tv on and we let her because she tends to have crazy ass dreams where she yells in her sleep if she doesn't have some kind of noise in the background the moment sleep actually hits her. Last night she'd fallen asleep watching The Chappelle Show on Comedy Central and immediately following was Futurama - which I really like to watch. I stayed up for a few minutes to watch the episode and let sleep take me as well - because at that point I had already set the tv to sleep in 40 minutes. Good thing I had! About 20 minutes into it THIS came on!

Imagine my surprise when I found THAT beauty all over the tv screen. I was pretty much astounded because at first I didn't recognize it until the first few words came onto the screen. Then I was just blank. Absolutely blank until the scene where the giant ball of ice cracks open and the blue beam of light shoots into the sky. Then I was all over the remote to make it louder. I was completely taken aback because I literally track this movie every week. And I had heard NOTHING about this trailer. Imagine my utter surprise to see a new trailer floating about the cable channels that I had just not heard of. So of course I immediately went to the intarwebz to find any trace of this new trailer and lo and behold the movie site had been updated! Needless to say my mouth was agape and I felt giddy with pride and excitement. Despite the decision to cast white actors in clearly Inuit roles and a white boy to play the lead protagonist, I'm excited to see this movie and still pray that it will pull off all the important story pieces. So now...while I go geek out about one of my fandoms...please enjoy the trailer above and perhaps explore the revelry that is Avatar: The Last Airbender.
