(no subject)
On Sunday night I was at a friends house anticipating the return of Aaron because we were going to order some fish and chips when he got back. When he walked through the door I said 'ready to order?' He said 'Some b%$*h has reversed into the side of our car!'. My first thought was if he had the ability to repond like that then he must be ok, my second thought was brilliant, we had that car for almost three years and managed without an accident in that time, even with repairs the car will never be 100% again.
So what actually happened, the events as told by Aaron. He was at the end of our street indicating to turn left, there was a car parked near the corner so he had to wait for an oncoming vehicle to pass to so he could drive around the parked vehicle. Once the vehicle past him, he proceeded to turn left. Once he was on the street, a woman then started to reverse out of her drive way ... right into the back of our car. She got out of her car advised Aaron she didn't see him, well obivously, I would be alittle concerned if she had seen him and then decided to continue reversing. I put it down to shock but then Aaron said she became really defensive and tried to accuse him of causing the accident by making statements such as ' I would like to have you breatholised right now' and her passanger saying too Aaron 'we didn't see you, you must of been speeding'. These comments really got to Aaron but I did explain to him how it would look on paper. Once the breatholiser comment was made Aaron agreed it would be best and then called the police to ask them to attend the accident. I also explained to Aaron that if it did end up in court and they tried to accuse him of speeding it wouldn't stand. I explained because he had just come out of a corner onto the road there was no possible way he could of been speeding, because he wouldn't of made it out of the corner if that were the case.
We have the quotes for repairs that need to be made and they said they would need to cut out the dent in the back panel (becuase they wouldn't be able to beat it out) and replace it by whelding a new sheet of metal onto it. Its going to look like crap.
I want my K.Rudd money now, that might cheer me up a bit.
