My coach shared this on the Raleigh Walkers Facebook group. This was the last time I raced in that red shirt; I now have a white jersey with frays betraying the fact there used to be sleeves, until I cut them off. If I broke any USATF rules in the process, WHOOPS! I did tell my coach I'd be doing it and he said nothing indicating it was a bad idea, so hey. I'm wearing the number 4.
Maria Michta is the first American woman ever to go sub-22 racewalking a 5k. She also did the 2012 Olympics. Needless to say, she (and her sister Katie, who won nationals in high school level last year) slaughters me at every race. Badly.
