Testosterone is not the tingly, magical, happy experience I expected it to be. I'm not complaining, just saying this whole ride is a little different than I thought it was going to be

As far as standard dose... I don't know. I know my doctor is starting me out on a lower dose and ramping me up. The final dosage I end up at will depend on how I metabolize the testosterone - but I'm pretty sure it'll be less than what is needed to combat estrogen in the system. Different doctors start testosterone therapy differently though. I know some guys who have done like I am and started out low, eventually working up to a full dose. Then there are guys I know who have been started off at 200mg/2 weeks right away (or 100mg/week). There aren't very many guys that I know that started T* after hyst and each of them that I do know has done something different. What I'm trying to get at is that there really is no "standard" per say... oy that was long winded.
I don't know what a hot flash really is... If you find out before I do please fill me in... I don't fully understand why I'm still having them, but I do know that when my Estrogen dose (1mg) was too low I had them also. I've got a call in to the doctor and plan to get to the bottom of this.
I was taking Estratest before I got on T* and to answer your question I just didn't take the pill the morning of my first shot. I was taking a mantinence dose that the half-life only lasted about 30 hours on, and I was starting out at a pretty low dose of T* so I think it was safe the way the doc suggested.
If you want to try something middle of the road I would ABSOLUTELY suggest trying full strength Estratest. It was really the best thing I found. I got a little taste of testosterone but not enough that anyone else was noticing. (ie. my mom wasn't freaking out at my facial hair growt or my deep manly voice cause I wasn't getting that)
