Flash really didn't like being a turtle. He just couldn't get used to moving so slowly, for one, and the lack of fingers really bothered him. He hadn't even tried moving from his spot in front of the computer on his desk--there was no way to get down except fall, and it was a lot further to the floor now. And he was getting hungry. Not that he ( Read more... )

Thankfully it didn't take Shayera long to get to where Flash was. She was just grateful Batman was a skunk and wouldn't be doing much to stop her if he even knew what she was up to. She guessed he probably did. He said he would be keeping an eye on her, and she believed him.

She entered Flash's place and tried not to burst into hysterics again. Seeing him in person was funnier than over the internet. She covered her mouth to stifle her laughter.

"There you are," She said.

The turtle looked at Shayera and tilted its head slightly.

Surprisingly, Flash was a very expressive turtle. If he could have spoken, he would have said something like, "here I am."

Really, it was a shame that Shayera had to control herself. Seeing the little turtle look at her like that was hilarious, knowing that it was Flash she was looking at.

Shayera walked over to Flash and scooped him up, able to hold him in one hand. "Come on. Let's get out of here," She told him, still smiling. She walked out of the room and spread her wings to take flight.

She found it a little odd that the first time she had seen Flash since the invasion he was a turtle.

Erk. Being scooped up wasn't really that fun. Flash withdrew himself into his shell, which was admittedly a pretty cool trick, and tried to ignore the sensation of being on an extremely tipsy canoe in the middle of a hurricane out in the ocean.

While flying Shayera was sure to keep a good grip on Flash so as not to drop him. She didn't think she would, but she wanted to be absolutely positive. He was her friend after all.

Once she arrived at Dr. Fate's home she landed and entered through the golden door that appeared for her and took her directly to her room like she wanted it to. Once in there she sat Flash down near the PC in case he wanted to try to type anything to her and then went to the fridge to find him something to eat.

Even after Shayera had set him down, the world still seemed to be acting like a broken roller coaster to Flash, so he just stayed inside his shell for a while.

He tried falling asleep to pass the time, but the dizziness was too much, and he was too hungry. So he just closed his eyes and waited.

Shayera smiled as she noticed Flash curled up inside his shell. She dug out some lettuce from her fridge and brought it over to where he was. She sat down and place the lettuce in front of him before poking his shell lightly.

"Dinner's served," She told him.

ACK POKING NOT GOOD. Flash stuck his head out angrily, then noticed the lettuce. Man, what he wouldn't give for a hamburger... but turtles and hamburgers probably didn't mix, did they.

Sighing, Flash came out of his shell all the way and started munching.

Man, this was awkward.

Shayera bit back a laugh as he started eating the lettuce. He didn't look too pleased about this, not that she blamed him. Then again, she wasn't really an expert at reading the emotions of turtles.

"You know, I always wanted a pet," She said, smirking at him. She knew that would annoy him. It was an easy shot, really.

fjgajdlff No, he didn't like that at all. But honestly, how is a turtle supposed to display anger or annoyance? He shot the best glare he could at Shayera then pulled back into his shell.

Laughter was the only thing she really could do now. Really... she didn't mean to rub it in, but how often was the world's fastest man a turtle?

She picked him up and held him up at eye level, being sure to keep him far enough back that should he decide to retaliate he couldn't. "I bet you'd make a good paperweight in this form," She told him.

jfa That just wasn't fair at all. She was probably too far away to bite, and if he tried sticking his head or legs out it would just look ridiculous and she would laugh more. So Flash stayed stubbornly inside the shell.

But he vowed that if she ever tried to use him as a paperweight, he'd not only walk away, he would bite her.

She was totally going to pay for this when he turned into a human again.

...if he turned into a human again.

Shayera shook her head, still grinning as she sat him back down on the table. Him staying inside his shell told her enough.

"Sorry, Flash. But if you were in my shoes you would have the same reaction."

Well, okay, that was true enough.

But still. That hurt. And the shell was nice and dark and cozy.

So he stayed in there.

Shayera shook her head at Flash. She felt bad for him, being unable to talk and slow as... well... a turtle. He would be back to normal soon though, according to what she had heard.

She turned her attentions to a book she had been reading before all of this happened and leaned back in her chair to read.

Flash waited a little while, then poked his head out again to see what Shayera was doing. When he saw she wasn't paying attention to him anymore, he went back to munching lettuce.
