On the Upswing
Goddammit Sam's apartment is so cold. Austin has been fun thus far, though I've been minus my partner in crime. I've met Sam's new boyfriend, and they make a charmingly cute couple. The guy likes Neil Young, and anyone younger than 4o who digs Neil Young is fine by me.
Additionally, the new Hold Steady and Decemberists albums are amazing. Seriously. Go buy them both. If you're really in a bind and are squeamish with the Hold Steady as a rule, disregard though inhibitions and buy the album anyway. Lots of pathos, great one liners, and at points some really moving moments line this album. Its a keeper. The Decemberists are as good as they ever are, but track 2, "The Island", makes me go apeshit whenever I listen to it, even after a dozen or so listens. Check them out.
