the pump debate...(squeamish guys bewares)
so i'm all signed up for my birthing class...i'm really looking forward to it, and it's on my night off, so even better :-D
the teacher there is also a lactation consultant, which is great cause i want to breastfeed gabe so badly, and since i had metal shoved through my nipples for several years, i was kinda worried that scar tissue could effect it...but she said generally speaking when a woman has had peirced nipples it just means there's bigger holes for the milk to come out, so i should be okay. she'll check me out when i go in to make sure, though. groovus.
i still have no clue what i'm doing about a breastpump though. i found a nice portable one at babysrus, but then there are hospital grade rentals, which are supposed to be really nice too....and the one you own is like, 160-200 something dollars. which is a shitload of money for something that i'll only be using for a few months to the first year...and hospital grade ones are supposed to be faster. i haven't found out how much they are though, i suppose that'll be the deciding factor.
