Thanks so much for culling these together and sending it to me. It really brightened my day.

Rob, for the last week or so, I've been wanting to write you a long, rambly e-mail about the ways Veronica Mars has changed my life. Because it was more than a television show for me and many others. This wasn't just entertainment; it really affected people's lives. You affected people's lives. I wanted to speak for everyone, but I'm probably best off speaking for myself, soon enough. So I went through the cancellation thread and pulled out some choice gems to show you the real effect you've had on real people with your fictional story.
The last one is pretty amazing, I must say.

Goodbye Veronica Mars, watching the first season of this show and becoming a fan was an incredible experience that helped me through a difficult time. I always knew I could count on the wit and humanity to get me out of a funk, and Keith Mars became the dad I wished I had.

AnneW:
I was just out of college and working a crappy job I hated, but the start of the week didn't hurt quite as much because I knew it meant a new episode of VM.

holly96:
This was the first time I ever loved something so much that I had to seek out other fans, and that has been a big part of my enjoyment.

Kimilu:
I am going to miss this show like a best friend.

Jon Snow:
A part of me died today.

In the fall of '04, I had just had a baby and we had just moved into a new house where I didn't know many people in the neighborhood, so I sat around a lot feeding the baby and watching TV. I caught the VM pilot on a whim and was instantly hooked.
Over the years I managed to hook two of my sisters, my best friend, her husband, my daughter's godfather, his girlfriend, my sister-in-law, two of my brothers-in-law, and my future sister-in-law.
And now...my baby isn't a baby anymore. We've moving into a new home once again. And VM is leaving me. It seems only fitting to me. Life is changing around me, and I need to let Veronica and Logan and Keith and Wallace and Weevil go, too.

I just wanted to take a minute to say thanks to RT, Kristen and Jason for bringing me joy every Tuesday, and every day that I was bored and popped in my DVD's of seasons 1 and 2.
--------------------------------------
Honor:
This is the only show that I have ever scheduled my life around. And now what do I do with my Tuesday nights?

cherrybomb1108:
I can already feel the void. I don't think TV will ever get better than this show. I'm so glad I found this show. It helped me become the sarcastic pain in the ass I am today.

Jasonbingo:
My first couple of years of high school were tuff but Tuesday and sometimes Wednesdays made it better knowing this show was on.

I wanted to be Veronica. I admired her for her toughness and ability to confront people without fear, even those in higher authority. I loved her clothing style; she was the only female character on TV whose style I could relate to. Veronica wasn't girly girly glam like everyone else on TV, and neither am I.

daretorun:
Veronica influenced my life. Before Veronica, I was going through a lot, my friend dying, my disconnection with everyone and then Veronica came along. She taught me that when life gets tough, don't stand by and watch, get tougher.

lunarmars:
This "little" show brought my family together once a week, and provided opportunities to discuss and debate some of life's more difficult issues.

Veronica Mars helped me through adolescence. It premiered my freshman year of high school, and it gave me something to look forward to, think about while I was bored in class, it made me laugh and cry.
More than anything, it gave me a strong teenage female role model, in a world where seeing something like that on television is rare. And for that, I owe Veronica Mars a lot.

Babsonite:
Thank you for inspiring me to be the best I can be, and for getting me out of a slump.

Kimilu:
A significant amount of what I listen to now comes from bands I first heard on the show, and as a huge music lover that means a lot to me.

Mayorofsmpleton:
It's so rare for a show to focus on racial/class differences and to root for the true underdogs of the world. You pulled that off and reminded people that even if you aren't rich or popular or powerful you can sometimes make a difference.

adri278:
But, this was the first television show that I felt was truly mine, and for that reason it will always hold a special place in my heart. It has meant so much to me over the last three years, and it also introduced me to a world of fandom that I am truly thankful for.

Veronica had every good quality I wished to have for myself. She stood up for her friends, her family, what she believed in, no matter what the cost. I felt like she got me. Every bad time I went through she'd understand. I saw myself in her. I kept watching to see what she would do next, and she never let me down.

I just moved away from San Diego, and this show has kept me sane. The glimpses of home have been so lovely.

lgriff0903:
I know this is a little corny but Veronica Mars was kinda like my awesome big sister. I was a sophomore in high school when the show started, she was a junior. I looked up to her and tried to emulate her and be sassy, witty, and strong. I think the show even influenced my decision to go to college in SoCal. Veronica Mars was, and will always remain, my biggest idol and this show will never, ever, be matched on how much it has affected my life.

AnzThera:
Besides being a well-acted, well-written and brilliant show, VM was also personally inspiring. I missed out on BtVS during high school and never realized the true value of hardcore toughness.

chrono_cross:
Before watching Veronica Mars, I didn't know the value of assertiveness and how far it can get you in life. I was working on my university's newspaper at the time as a reporter. Watching Veronica Mars completely transformed the way I handled reporting and the way I interacted with authority and people I had to interview. I discovered the benefit of being direct with people, asking hard questions, and searching for the truth, no matter how hard or uncomfortable that search may be. Because of my newfound ability to interact with people in a certain way as a journalist and a reporter, it directly impacted the way I handled the situations and the problems in my life. I learned to remove the self-esteem issues in my life and I learned how to not be a doormat, thanks to the double-dose of being inspired by Veronica's quest in season one and thus determined stance to practice quality journalism and be a more assertive person. I have NEVER reacted to a form of media such as this before, and I never thought it was even possible to.
But it gets better:
That's me! Sunil [last name removed for Google], Brightener of Days!
Turns out that AFTER I sent that, someone topped them all:

Ok, I know this is a little strange but...this show has meant a lot to me.
I stumbled on it last year and watched every episode. During that time I was battling cancer. It was very painful, and one of the only things that helped was being distracted...and not just anything would do. Veronica Mars was so engaging that it helped me feel better, if only for a little while. (I have since gotten the recent news that I am OK)
I really want to thank everyone involved with the show, you had an amazing run and I will miss the show very much. Really truly...Thank you.
