Meme: Above and Beyond

Jun 13, 2006 23:52

So I was trying to write a post about my issue with the glorification of gay culture as if it makes one hip and subversive, but I couldn't figure out how to do it without coming off as homophobic and/or hypocritical, so have some memes instead. Feel free to participate in as many as you want.

Please leave a one-word comment that you think best describes me - it can only be one word long. Then copy and paste this in your journal so that I may leave a word about you.

(1) Write a blog entry as me and post it as a comment. It can be about anything I would normally write about. Do your best to emulate my style/voice/pompous know-it-all-ness, like you know whatever. Be as sarcastic or as sincere as you like.

(2) You can only post this meme in your own blog if you do step (1).

You know that one where you tell me why you friended me? And maybe what you thought of me initially and how your impression of me has changed or been confirmed since then? Do that.

Here, have a song: MC Lars - Ahab. It is a rap about Moby Dick. For serious. It includes the words "monomaniac," "dubloon," and "hubris."

Oh, fuck it, I might as well make a poll, right? I haven't posted in a while and kind of miss my inbox flood. Because I am a commentwhore.

Poll Television Nostalgia

Aha! And while I am here, I might as well thank the wonderful people who donated to MI.net in order to keep it ad-free. Because even if you think our site is an eyesore upon the Internet, it would be even more of an eyesore if it were cluttered with ads!

But I think our site is pretty. *hugs site*

In conclusion, Foucault's Pendulum is, according to the layperson in an elevator, "a big book."
