I read Lightning Thief and was underwhelmed (also I can't stop picturing Pierce Brosnan and his horse pants), but you may have persuaded me to read the rest of it.

Definitely read the rest! The first book is very introductory, but the second book starts opening up the mythology, and you start to see what the series can do. And then it just gets better.

I absolutely love the Percy Jackson series! I'd also recommend you check out the sequel series. The first one starts out a bit slow, but it is worth it.

I was pretty impressed with how the finale played out. Not what I would have expected from the series. Talk about subverting tropes!
