WonderCon 2010, Day 2: Esplanade Day

Apr 13, 2010 23:40

On the BART to WonderCon Saturday morning, I encountered, as one does, people on their way to WonderCon, identifiable by their bags, geeky shirts, and extremely geeky conversation. One woman was expressing her love for Enterprise, which was something I'd never seen before. As we exited the train, a girl asked me what the quickest way to Moscone was ( Read more... )

Gosh, Lol Thomas Dekker and Kyle Gallner, it'd be cool if you could arrange to be in a movie together that I'd ever want to see.

I'm sorry for your Kick-Ass loss!

M.C. Gainey is the reason Mr. Friendly is gay.

That! is! awesome! Ever since it was revealed i've thought it was a nice little detail to throw in there.

aagggghhhhhh Lost ending aaaaaaggggggghhhhhhhhh

That tiny little kid Batman made me make a lot of incredibly high-pitched noises, OH MY GOD, CUTENESS OVERLOAD, CANNOT DEAL

He was like, "You get a group of people together, one of them's going to be gay. I decided it'd be me."

Sucks that you did not get to see Kick-Ass.

I may have missed something here, but.. you managed to get tickets to the screening, yet couldn't get in because it was full? That makes no sense, and certainly does not sound fair to you guys!

It is well worth the wait though - It has been out for a couple of weeks over here, and is bloody excellent! :)

That's pretty standard, really. They hand out more tickets than they have seats, because most free screeners will have a one-in-three actual attendance, and they don't want an un-packed house for the "sneak preview."

I can see the need to fill the room, and to over invite, but it just seems very strange to me that a "ticket" would not actually guarantee admission.

I guess it would maybe suck less if you knew beforehand that you might not actually get in. :/

And then one of the panelists, I think Jeff Garlin, started fucking with the interpreter by saying random shit he would have to sign. It was really hilarious. I guess you had to be there.

That sort of thing is hilarious. It's like what Adam Hills did.

That Dekker guy is pretty.

Wow, there were a lot of super-cool people at WonderCon! That's quite a line-up. Now I feel both better and worse about not being there - better because your post is so comprehensive, worse because it shows me all the awesome crap I missed.

AMY ACKER. I love all your random pics of her being crazy.

WHY is Chris Nolan standing up there with a "GEOFF BOUCHER" nametag, blasphemous! I lovelovelove Nolan and I love that he makes movies with his wife. I don't know why, it's just badass. I don't want to even think of the possibility of Inception sucking so let's knock on wood every time we hear/think the title, okay?

On the left...Jerry Bruckheimer! He's a real person.

LOL. Oh, Prince of Persia - I don't think anyone realizes how stupid excited I am to watch that movie.

...he also talked about singing songs and shooting twelve-year-olds and wanting to get inside Chloe Moretz's dreams.WTS Nic Cage! I had no idea he was such a looney. It kinda fits, though - he's one of those critic-proof actors who can just do whatever the hell he ( ... )

Next year, come up!

I wish I'd gotten better pictures of her.

He was a surprise guest! Geoff Boucher was the moderator and had the podium before him.

WTS Nic Cage! I had no idea he was such a looney.
He was great. So many weird things! But he really believed them, you know? Like he was in his own little world where he made sense. When he said he wanted to get inside Chloe's dreams, I was just...WHAT.
