After loving the Bendis/Maleev run on Daredevil, I continued on to see what Ed Brubaker and Michael Lark had in store.

I completely agree with your sentiments about the Brubaker run. I thought it started out incredibly, but some of the middle arcs didn't live up to the expectations I had after that. However, he sure ended with a bang, and I feel like he made a pretty significant contribution overall.

I'm excited to see what Andy Diggle has in store; I like what I've seen so far! #501 comes out tomorrow, but I'm not sure I'll be able to get my hands on it till later this week.

Matt has friends and co-workers that need to be happy and not die.

HA SO TRUE. I think what Daredevil lacks in awesome villains, he makes up for in awesome allies. But it's not like he even needs a big sparkling Rogue's Gallery like Batman or Spider-Man, anyway - he's all about the small-scale, personal conflicts. And uh, KINGPIN is worth three or four standard villains!

I have his first issue downloaded, and I'll check it out before reading #501 this week. Exciting! We can talk about it and be DD buddies!

Gah! Hopefully I'll have time tomorrow to snag it after work.

And you're quite right: this is a lot like Angel S5. I've actually been doing a (very slow) rewatch of S2 lately...

I have the same thoughts about the Brubaker arc! Although I haven't reached the Rucka part yet.
