I'm nine episodes into Cowboy Bebop and really liking it! I'm watching it subbed, even though dubbed won the poll, because I am a fan of principles, even when they're made-up. People were right about it being very episodic, but there are little hints of backstory regarding Spike and the worldbuilding that intrigue me amidst the entertainment ( Read more... )

cowboy bebop, anime, the sarah connor chronicles, tv, skins

Has Cromartie never seen a cell phone before, or does Vibrate mess with his sensors? Is he like Venom or something?

Perhaps he's just one those anal people that's all "answer your PHONE asshole?"

For God's sake, the goal of chess is not annihilation.

I'm still all obsessed with the Two Kings metaphor, with Skynet v. John Connor. Annihilation not necessary. Just knock out ONE GUY/ENTITY, forever, and it's over.

It's better to ignore excessive voice overs, don't you know? She's still better than Mohinder, but below Dexter and Veronica.

Ha! And...we never found out who was calling, did we.

That is an AWESOME metaphor because you are AWESOME.

True. But I have gone on record as liking her voiceovers, and she goes and disappoints me this week. Geez.

I'm glad you like my idea, because NO ONE ELSE DOES. *pouts*

Aw. She can't help it they must tie up all thematic threads in a voice over monologue every week. Some weeks her thoughts are bound to suck. As well as her thought-pronounciation. (I love that criticism: you pronounced it wrong... IN YOUR HEAD.)

Oh, oh! I had a thought! Where did it go? Fuck.

I like your two kings LOADS, but I think knocking out a king forever is annihilation. The king is down, the king is down! Or dead. Or annihilated. Buh-bye! See, e.g. wizard's chest, HP the first movie.

I just watched the Skins premiere last night, and it's so weird, but in my head I made the Jason Street comparison too. It's probably just because I only started watching FNL this week, so it was fresh for me. (That show never made it over here - not that I think the UK is in any way its target audience!)

Nice to know that someone other than me watches Skins though!

I love the fact that BAG is playing Kyle's brother. And yes the grief counseling scene was very well done. I enjoyed that little dance.

Yep, we did know that about Jal's name. I think it was in her episode, or something. I know what you mean about Tony! I started hating him by the end, but I miss evil sociopath Tony! I'm not sure if I liked it, but when he wrote his name, I was smiling. I couldn't believe how much younger he looked! Interesting what you can do with body language and a lack of styling gel ( ... )

Me too!

Yeah!

He did look very different. I even rewatched the bus scene, and it's really drastic.

I read an interview with the girl who plays Michelle, and she said that there are two deaths in this season - but she said it could be main cast or ancillary characters. So now I'm worried for Maxxie.
Oh crap! I didn't know that! And I was worried for Maxxie when he was ambushed in the forest.

Cassie being in Scotland was mentioned in the end of s1, she was moving away, and that's why it was sad. But she looked sweet and happy! I liked her dancing.
And it looks like she and Sid had a lot of sex beforehand.

I'm hoping we'll get to see a better Michelle this season, because her whole identity in s1 was Tony's Girlfriend, and I kind of think that's ( ... )

I can't believe I'm getting hooked on a stupid fox show, which will probably get canceled. But I am! And I'm finally done rolling my eyes are Summer as Cameron (bc everyone is always telling me she's amazing and River was BEAUTIFUL and I hate being told that shit) to finding her Cameron awesome. Like, I stop snerking at her robotness.

I'm not sure I'd say she felt something, so much as she was exploring what she thinks the humans felt and what she should, etc. etc. I feel like it's an intellectual enterprise, bc she has to know if they succeed her brethren won't come about. Course, that intellectual poking at a sore tooth may be feeling for her, I ain't no robot.

I'm overly chatty today. But Skins! I had to go back and rewatch part of season 1 bc I couldn't remember Tony got hit. I don't know how I feel about it all, except I LOVE MAXXIE. I did last year, too, with the whole Anwar/blowjobTony thing, but this was GREAT.

Yeah, Maxxie was pretty great in this episode, the way he looked after Tony.
