Life in Korea continues
Well it has been a while since I last updated. What has been happening in my life.
I am still taking Korean class, it is interesting learning a new language. Korean is a hard language to learn because I have to learn a lot of vocabulary and the grammar is a little hard. Overall I do need to study more to to really progress in the class. Taking the Korean class has been a smart choice though, just being able to read Korean has helped out a lot here.
School is going well, I am still enjoying teaching but some of the classes are very tough. There are students who do not want to learn and it is hard to find ways to motivate them. I like my school and the food is not bad. They serve a lot of fish at my school so that is a small problem for me since I do like fish.
Living here has indeed giving me an interesting perspective on life here and life back in the USA. I think that I have come more patriotic since I have moved here. Traveling around Seoul so far has been a lot of fun. The city is very interesting, no mater what alley way you look down you will see shops and restaurants unlike you would see in many places in the bay area. The sheer speed here in which people work here in the construction is amazing. You will see a store torn down on a Friday and the new shop is open on Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week.
I still have a lot of places that I want to explore and I will try to take pictures so I can share the experience with all of you. I am still not sure what I am going to do with my winter break, it all really depends what days they give me off. Right now I am thinking of either going to Japan, some where in Korea, Hong Kong or even go back to the States.
When I get back to the States I will eat all the food I miss there but I am also really interested to try Korean food back there to see how it compares to food here.
I have had a couple experiences here where I am walking back home and it hits me "Hey, you are living in a foreign country right now." It is a good feeling and an interesting feeling. I am happy that I have come here and I think it was the right choice. I have been here for almost 3 months and there is still a lot of things to experience here.
