Ahhh hello!!! How are you doing??? The green dress Julia is wearing really is to die for although you really have to look like her to be able to pull it off!!!!! House starts on Thursday here, I can't wait but what is up with Hugh Laurie's US accent??? He is british for the love of god!!!!! I must say, it'll be good to see him play a serious role rather than the comedy he is known for over here.

They tried the character with a British accent and apparently didn't work

You'll love House. The second to last episode of the season was the best thing I've seen in years.

My very close friend Hannah and I have decided that House will be our new show to obsess about. We were both housewives, sex and the city and OC obsessives so this will fill our void!!! Shame his original accent didn't work too well, guess they'd have to put up subtitles or something with his speech. My life seems to revolve around House since thats the style of music I mainly make so I'll have to listen to the theme tune and see if I can rip it off in someway for a dancefloor track...hmmmm...

What about Deadwood? That is also an obsession of mine...

As for british shows that I obsess about. I must say I've v. depressed we haven't gotten the new Dr. Who. And I'm totally mourning Coupling. I adored the British version.

We didn't get Deadwood sadly, however there is still a chance we might!!!

Coupling (the brit version) is awesomely great and so typically british which is why it probably doesn't work too well in the US. Many US people just don't get the british psyche if you like. The new Dr. Who is amazing, they really have done a superb job with it. The main actors in it are destined for bigger and better things. I didn't see any of the other series' because they weren't on when I was growing up so this is my first time round with the Dr and I'm loving it. Not sure if you'll get it unless its on BBC America as the new Dr. has a strongish regional accent which might be unclear to US viewers. Even though US shows are so popular and have massive budgets, I don't think you can beat UK tv at all. Look out for Footballer's wives starting stateside soon, its outlandish, completely OTT and silly but its good escapism for an hour or so!!!

I'm not sure BBC America wants to pay the insane lisencing fees. Arrgh. I tend to do rather well with understanding regional accents. I watched a lot of british television growing up. I did once run into someone in a shop, I think he was from Yorkshire, and I couldn't understand a damn thing he said.

I love BBC america. The last season of Coupling was so brilliant, even with faux-Jeff. I even started to like Jane and I hated her.

Faux-jeff wasn't great but he was needed to balance things out. I must say, out of the women, I really really liked Sally, even though she was clouded by insecurity! The new Dr. has a fairly broad Manchester accent which isn't too dissimilar to that of a yorkshire one so even the best of you might struggle. Even over here, sometimes us brits can't understand each other at times!!!!!!

I'd have thought BBC America wouldn't have to pay that much since its a BBC UK production but since BBC America is a commercial arm of the BBC, who knows!!! I'll talk in a Manc accent next time we speak to see if you understand me!!!!
