Well, Arkkon is evil. This was already known. Poor Scorch dies, and that makes me sad. But then you realise its just a stupid quiz and its not real. I need a life. and a job. and many other things.
If not, well, I happen to know that the person who runs the community from where I read your comments isn't exactly a fan of people who can be overconfident. He does have a point, but I'm still the same guy who put a halt to the winning streak of a certain somebody without relying on luck. Granted, the very things that did stop it are debatable for balance, but the somebody had some unpleasant advantages, I messed up a few times (never really gathering about Confusion, which is a royal pain to begin with) and the match was still won, even with a math error on my part (well, not quite a math error per se, just a bad memory of damage calculation) that prolonged the match and resulted in casualties being increased from myself at an earlier part (I was revived) to permanent removal of half my side's fighting force.
Point is, I see your point in being confident. You might achieve something similar after all. Just don't be too cocky and things will be fine.
What I'd like to know in the meantime is why magic defense ratings should cause less varied damage than physical defense ratings. Magic is supposed to be far more varied (not to say physical stuff should be bland either), it relies on the characters' intelligence so being dumb about it should be costly, and the pure-of-heart should be highly resistant at least to magic.
BTW, my AIM SN is JuigiKario. But don't expect me on much anytime soon.
