This morning, driving to work, I was surprised to notice that the leaves had changed, and there were piles on either side of the street. Mounds and mounds of orange-gold scattered charmingly over lush green. The skys were a slight overcast with blue peaking through and the wind cast a brisk breeze. I rolled down the window and tasted damp earth in the air. And despite the chill, despite it being the ungodly hour of six am, despite having had no sleep the night before and a meeting to prepare for, I couldn't help but grin.

Winter had just arrived in Southern California, and it looked gorgeous.

See? We have seasons. :D
