Fanfic: Shake-chazuke

I found this little one-shot in my comp and decided to post it.  It was inspired by this.  (Sorry I used to have a link to a subbed version but it seems to have been taken down.  Basically Maru thinks it's cute that Koki is fussy about making shake chazuke and getting his shoes wet  >_<  ).

Nakamaru let himself into Koki’s apartment and sighed in pleasure.  It was always so nice to be here.  Something about Koki’s apartment gave off a homey feel that Maru just couldn’t get at his own place.  But then his boyfriend tended to have that effect in every area of his life.

Maru put his keys and the movie rentals down on a display cabinet that held an inordinate amount of accessories and padded through the apartment in his socks.  There was music coming from one of Koki’s three stereo systems.  It seemed to be the kitchen one so Maru made his way there with the thought of helping out but when he got there he changed his mind.

Koki was completely absorbed in what he was doing.  Maru watched as the ‘tough guy’ gently picked up a piece of salmon with his chopsticks and laid it delicately on the dish in front of him, using the tip of his pinky finger to adjust it into the perfect placement.

Maru leant against the doorframe smirking as he watched as the process was repeated three more times.  It was just so cute.  Anyone else would think that he’d just slap the food on the plate without much thought but Maru knew better: Food was a serious matter to Tanaka Koki.

A moment later his smirk grew into an all out grin as Koki bent over the dish to pour the green tea.  He was so exact that he bent far enough to have his face on level with the food.  As cute as that may be, Maru was more absorbed with the view it gave him of the younger man’s wonderfully built backside.  He instinctively moved further into the room and snuck up behind his boyfriend.  In one move he took a handful of said backside and leant over Koki to kiss his shoulder.

Koki squeaked and jumped involuntarily, slopping tea all over the bench.

“Maru!  When did you get here?”

“A couple of minutes ago.” He answered as he slid his hand further between Koki’s legs.  “Try not to spill any more tea, ne?”

“If you don’t move your hand, I’ll spill a lot more than just tea.”  Koki tried to stand up properly but Maru was still leaning against his back and wasn’t willing to change their position just yet.

“You mean like this?” he asked, pretending ignorance as he began moving his fingertips in small circles against Koki’s jeans.

An odd sound came out of Koki’s throat.  He dropped the bottle of tea and scrabbled to pick it up before it fell off the bench altogether.

“Yuichi!”

Maru stepped back and released his hold.  Koki turned to face him with an almost empty bottle clutched in his hands.

“I’m trying to make dinner.”  He announced in a way that clearly said he found Maru’s interruption unacceptable.

“I know.  Watching you was making me hungry.”

“Well, when I’m finished cooking and we’ve eaten dinner, we can have ‘dessert’ but until then co--”

Koki was cut off by Maru’s mouth coming down on his own.  Within moments Koki gave up the fight, moaning into the elder man’s mouth and clutching at his shirt. Maru pressed his boyfriend up against the bench, grinding against him and trying to untie Koki’s apron.

The damned apron was knotted and wouldn’t undo.  For a second, he considered just moving it out of the way and undoing his belt buckle instead, but he knew from previous experience that Koki did not like the idea of ‘soiling’ his favourite apron.

“I can’t get the apron untied!”  Maru tried to get Koki to turn around so he could see what he was doing but Koki wasn’t turning.

“Maru, it’s okay.  Just stop.”

“Ne?”

“We should eat first anyway.”

“Demo - ”

“Yuu-chan, I went to the trouble to make it, I’ve been looking forward to it all day and I’m hungry.”

“Well, if it’s that important to you…”  Maru sighed and resigned himself to waiting.

He gave Koki’s neck a quick kiss and moved to fetch some more green tea whiled Koki moped up the bench with paper towels.  A few minutes later they were seated at the table enjoying their meal.

Maru smiled to himself as Koki tasted a mouthful with a serious expression on his face; chewing and swallowing like a connoisseur before adding another splash of tea to his dish.  It never failed to amuse Maru that his gangster-image boyfriend was such a fussy little housewife about such things.

“What are you smiling at?” Koki asked as he reached across the table to add more tea to Maru’s dish as well.

“Nothing.  Just thinking how cute you are.”

Koki let a silly smile settle over his face and returned to his meal.  They spoke about their day and upcoming projects for work.  It was the usual couple-style dinner conversation, but Koki was slowly becoming aware that Maru’s smile would widen each time Koki raised his chopsticks to his mouth.  That smile was building a whole new hunger in Koki - one that had nothing to do with food.

When they finished eating Maru cleared the table and did the washing up, continuing their conversation while Koki dried the dishes and put them away.  Maru found himself smiling again as he watched Koki line the dishes up on their shelves, making sure they were all perfectly placed in their order from biggest to smallest.

When they were finally finished Koki took off his apron and hung it on the hook by the door, making short work of the knot that had hindered Maru earlier.  The moment Koki’s hand lost contact with the apron Maru’s closed over it, pulling the hand until Koki was right up against his boyfriend.

The kiss was deep, passionate and far more suggestive than Koki was expecting.  He’d been expecting that they would settle down with a rented DVD and snuggle on the couch.  Maybe make out a little. It was obvious that Maru had other plans as he grabbed hold of one of Koki’s larger necklaces and towed him into the bedroom.

“Not that I’m complaining, but why are we in here instead of the couch?”  Koki asked as Maru started removing the larger accessories that were getting in the way.

“If you’ll remember, I started an important round of groping earlier in the evening and I think it’s important to always finish what I start.” Maru explained as his hand made its way into Koki’s pants.

“Well, if it’s important to you…” Koki sighed into the kisses and happily resigned himself to missing tonight’s movie.
