I'm going back to Greensboro in a month. I'm accompanying my two darling friends who must finally face the merciless ass-kicking of the North Carolina state law. We're going to be there for a week while Claire finishes her 50 hours of community service, and Caitlin finds out about hers after I drive her to Asheville at 5 in the morning one day.

I'm a little more excited about this trip than for my own good. So excited that I'm writing about it 5 weeks in advance. I'm also terrified, for some reason. But y'know, after that week, then what? Nuttin'. That's what. So enjoy it. And don't get your hopes up too high.

Alright. Good pep talk, me.

I went to the eye doctor's this morning. Not because I had any problems or anything, of course not. My mother just thought I should go. Just in case. God, when they dilated my pupils it was terrifying! Especially the drive home. Every glare on every windshield looked like a bright star hurtling towards my line of vision. I noticed every shiny leaf, every blazing white mailbox, every bright, horrible, orange flower. I was squinting so much behind my sunglasses that I constantly felt like I was going to sneeze. Everything within 5 feet of my face was a total blur. It was a lot like tripping. But it's over now, and I guess that was my dose of excitement for the day.

Now I can return to my dull life of video games, job interviews, and monotony.
