It's so fitting and Meredith just deserves it and I think this, this is the only right way to end this story. Perfect, perfect, perfect. Nothing could be more symbolic, in the best possible way. - I was so worried about that. I was worried people were going to want something J/E heavy. But I realised that I don't like that, in competition with something subtly beautiful. I like things to be simple, like the image of John playing with Meredith's toes and just...trusting Elizabeth's judgement. That, to me, is far more beautiful than snogging. There really isn't a comparison (and I really need you to get through all the LTM eps so I can share with you, EXACTLY WHAT EFFING BEAUTIFL IS! Seriously, you'll be floored)

I'M SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO HAPPY THAT THE ENDING IS EVERYTHING YOU WANTED. I will be honest, and admit that I was scared people weren't going to recieve this kind of ending well. You know I like to be different, this story is testament to that. But a lot of the time, while I'm different, I round it out with what people kind of want/expect. This time, I tried to break away from that. I wanted to do what I wanted, something special and touching and so very simple that it's beautiful. I really hope that I accomplished that. I really do.

And while this was epically about John and Elizabeth, loving each over across time (totally an in-joke, across fandoms, lol) I also wanted to make it about something more which is where Meredith comes in. I don't know when she became so special...but somehow, it just mattered to me. Because this wasn't a J/E fic...so much as it was an homage to how great Elizabeth could have been. How beautiful her story could have become. (And I could honestly go on and one, but I'm more interested in how you liked this, so I'll shut up, lol)
