What what what would it take he asks! Tiny baby little ant you are asking to be given your life, your future.
NOT A BARGAIN BIN PENNY PRICE. No no~... for the time moment second there is no future for you, no gold mine therein. Soooooooo let us dig into the past!

[ Give him a moment. What she says is pretty straightforward but Arthur is a liiiittle thrown by the delivery so he pauses.
A long pause. ]
Meaning?
[ Digging into the past? He thinks first of skeletons in closets but that doesn't mean anything to a majority of people who don't know him. So if he feels like he's missing her meaning, it's mostly because...he is.

[ Arthur considers his childhood and then considers the questionable reality of this place, the idea having come to him more than once that even though it's not his dream and it's not the subconscious belonging to Eames either, it could still be someone else's. The likelihood is so slim it feels nothing short of faulty to be considering it, but he has to because there isn't much else to infer from what he's seen, heard, and experienced.
And really this whole being dead thing? It blows. Not that he's surprised but from Arthur's perspective, when you're dead you're not cognizant of it so he'd never figured it would matter either way.
Childhood. But...aspects?
After another silence, he clears his throat slightly, questions still there. ]
Okay, so. Childhood memories. What do you mean by aspects?
And what kind of 'added fee'?
[ Arthur feels like they're nearly speaking different languages, but that's all wrapped up in what he's willing to believe, which isn't much. He's forcing himself to go through with it for the purpose of

[ She's right of course, which makes him second-guess (which is more like 500-guessing) the idea that this isn't his subconscious, or Eames', but then anyone who knows the dreamshare would be able to draw that conclusion so he discards the notion again. Still, it's a relief to be able to keep the dreams if nothing else; they help him separate his own history from a dozen others anyway, more clearly. He wonders what will be in the place of his childhood - a blank, probably, void.
There's a quirk of expression.
Dreamy and schemey. Also an ant.
Well. Arthur's been called worse. He almost laughs because this feels so ridiculous but it's all in or all out. That much he gets, but of the five senses he'd give up forever he's sure that taste won't cut the mortality bill. They want an equal weight. He turns the useless die in his pocket and replies: ]

[ Trying to wrap his head around this ...'deity's' reasoning is sending Arthur into something of a considerable blackhole, so he stops, just stares at the ceiling and pinches the bridge of his nose and focuses on how nice it is that he only has 32 teeth. ]

[ This pauses is definitively shorter than all the others. Bite the bullet as they say and it's not like anything quite sucks as much as being dead - so far, that he knows of, famous last words, etc, etc, etc. ]

I hear you can revive the dead.
[ O.....KAY....that sounded as ridiculous as he figure it would BUT...he is just going to remind himself he's committed to the idea. Right... ]
