So you said you were going to teach me how to shoot. Or rather I told you a badass friend of mine is capable and you said if that friend wasn't available you would. But I was talking about you.

Call me back.

[He attempts to call her first, just in case she is around!]

[Answers. There's loud music.] Hello?

[Said off the phone.] No, hold on. Shut up.

[Clunk, clunk, clunk of her walking away and the music isn't as loud.] Sorry about that. Hello.

[A dry pause here as he waits.]

Party? [He asks not entirely disbelieving but a little maybe.]

[She scoffs like it's a joke.] No. Art gallery show case.

[Ah, that makes much more sense.] Student work, or...?

A girl in my graduate class is having an opening in Montmarte.

Good for her.

[He pauses, possibly checking something in his notes.]

So. Shooting lessons. When were you thinking of? I'm on a job right now but we can plan ahead. [Really this is Arthur; he prefers it.]

I'm free most weekdays after eight and weekend afternoons.

We could make a weekend out of it once my schedule clears. No sense in rushing it if we don't have to.

Whenever you can make it, Arthur. You're doing it for me.

When I'm finished here I can call you.

[Pause and then, without segue...]

Do you plan on going home for Thanksgiving or Christmas?

No. Going to order Chinese and watch Miracle on 34th St for Thanksgiving. Might go home for New Years though.

[On his end there is another pause, his brow furrows. The matter can't possibly be money after the inception, but...hm. Well Arthur's not one to pry, but he takes note, quiet note.]

Miracle on 34th Street -- isn't that one for Christmas though?

[Arthur does nitpick a little though, and then trying to think of any Thanksgiving films. The only one that comes to mind is one of the Addams family movies...and he's not sure which one it was.]

Oh, I have the Christmas music out already. It's a thing I used to do as a kid. Movie about believing in the impossible. Sounds familiar, huh?

[She can't help but smile, given everything they went through.]

[He lets a chuckle escape for that one, because it's funny how the impossible things of childhood can be so different from the ones of adulthood. Possibly the childhood imaginings are more fantastical though. Inception is still a kind of deceit, however grand the playing field. Things like believing in goodwill toward men, presents under a tree, and a sense of magic...Arthur doubts he remembers what those things were like. But he knows they exist for some people. Every idea is a truth for at least one person or it wouldn't exist at all.]

You don't get sick of it by the time Christmas actually comes around?

[It's not a criticism, just a curiosity for once.]
