Movie Review: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 2

Yes, I did see this but haven't gotten around to writing about it until now. Lately, my other fandom has been a massive pain in the bahunkus (yeah, you know you are one) so I'm focused this one right now. I finally went to a midnight premiere of an HP movie (figured I might as well). Not too much dressing up but lots of fun people to hang around with.

As a whole, I enjoyed it a great deal. I tried not to think about stuff in the books while watching it. I know I'd nitpick the hell out of it if I did that.

Stuff I liked:

-HBIC McGonagall. Forever HBIC.
-Alan Rickman is god. Or something close to it. The Snape scenes...while I feel like we could have gotten a little more in The Prince's Tale, I loved it.
-HBC as Hermione!Bellatrix. She had Emma's mannerisms down pat.
-George bawling over Fred. :( God, I almost lost it there. I know we didn't see Fred die but...gah! And I'm not even a big fan of the twins.
-Neville 'Badass' Longbottom.
-R/Hr's kiss and their little moment afterwards.
-I liked Gambon as Dumbledore in this movie. I haven't been that fond of him in the others but I liked him in this one.
-The epilogue wasn't too bad when you see it in motion. And the kids are adorable.
-Fiendfyre scene...no one seems to ever mention this part.
-The Forest Again...oh God :(
-Luna Lovegood's scenes!

Stuff I disliked:

-Lack of Dumbledore's back story. I know it's a lot to bring up but...felt like we could squeeze something in it.
-Voldemort's weird smiles, lol.
-Tonks and Lupin pretty much getting shafted in these movies. I was never that fond of them in the books and in the movies, I'm even less fond of this ship.
-Voldemort's death was kinda funny to watch.
-Lack of explanation in some parts (why Lily would go to James, Remus having a son, etc).
-Harry breaking the Elder wand. He manages to break the most powerful wand in the world. So...does that mean he has no wand now?

Overall: Loved it. Need to see it again though cause I think I missed out on a lot.

Grade: A
HP Grade: O

Verdict: Go watch!
